VikWings
I don't mind the Mets getting rid of the white atl, but that awful camo one definitely should've went in the trash with it.They also don't need two blue alts. Get rid of the road one, I don't like the gray wordmark or the new hats that go with it.I could live with the ALT hat with the orange brim if they must have 2 hats for $$$.Ideal uni-set:White pinstripesGray.Mets Blue Alt.Regular Hat and BP cap. machpost
I'd love to see the Nats add a cream/off-white home alt that is more blue in base color than red and uses that nice script Nationals that's found its way into every aspect of the identity EXCEPT the uniform:I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of faux-back that pays tribute to the late Washington Senators, off-white with blue pinstripes and the above script on the chest... sirthaddaeus
Here is a larger photo which clearly shows DE for both alternate hats in addition to the BP cap. I'm a big supporter of the DEs and want to pick up a Braves home cap in the DE material.Yeah I like the DE material as well. I'm a Braves fan too and have their 2014 SP and 4th of July DE caps. I like the All-Star game and All-Star BP caps too which are DE. the 2013 SP caps were DE also, the infamous 'Screaming Indian' caps
Jungle Jim
Why would a team with caps and uniforms as beautiful as the Mets primary homes and roads, ever want to wear anything else?Along those lines, I had tickets to Reds-Mets at Great American Ballpark this past September and had looked forward for weeks to seeing those Mets gray uniforms in person. They wore the alts.

Gothamite
And because they are almost certainly the worst-run franchise in Major League Baseball. It's a pathetic play for attention and money that they can't earn by, say, putting a vaguely competitive team on the field. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. RyanMcD29
I'm late on chiming in on this, but man I'm disappointed the snow whites are gone. They were pretty much the home uniform for (I wanna say) 16 years or so and I think they fit better for the Mets than the pinstripes do. And once they were only paired with the blue caps once black was eliminated they popped even more. Don't get me wrong, the pinstripes are the traditional set and have their place in the Mets rotation as well, but the snow whites were their best jersey.I also think the road alt's run their course. The home alt's nice enough that you can get away with it as an away alt even with the Mets script instead of "New York" on it. And obviously ditch the camo. In my world, the Mets would primarily be in the snow whites, pinstripes for the weekend, primarily the greys on the road, and blue alts once or twice a week. Keep them in the traditional blue hats, but perhaps use the Mr. Met caps as an alt every now and then. I do like the home alt hat in a vacuum, but is a little too redundant the way it is now. I'm a big supporter of the DEs and want to pick up a Braves home cap in the DE material.Just seeing them all next to each other shows how pointless all but the original are. The Mets can't just leave well enough alone.(And I like the use of gray lettering on the road... alt jerseys.)
JasonFromMiami
Don´t see why the blue/orange bill met cap is bad, it´s the same concept as the A´s home cap ?
Phils Phan
Don´t see why the blue/orange bill met cap is bad, it´s the same concept as the A´s home cap ?It's pointless, the Mets look better with more blue and the white outline muddles the logo. BBTV
Don´t see why the blue/orange bill met cap is bad, it´s the same concept as the A´s home cap ? It adds nothing except inconsistency (white outline around the NY on that cap but not on the main home cap?) It's similar to the Pirates alt cap that's basically the home cap but with an outline. Pick one or the other - there's not room for both. It is completely unnecessary - and not at all like the A's home cap. It's similar to the A's road cap, which is also unnecessary and adds nothing. CubsFanBudMan
Don´t see why the blue/orange bill met cap is bad, it´s the same concept as the A´s home cap ?If the NY was white, it'd be the same concept as the A's. And still wrong for the Mets. This cap is the same concept as their once-rival Cubs' former road cap, which was equally unnecessary. If you have one great cap, you don't need any others, but sadly even the Yankees sell out in this era.
The_Admiral
No team needs more than one cap. A baseball cap should be treated as a football helmet in terms of team branding. New Era's slogan was even (or still might be) "It's not a cap, it's a flag." Well, the Union Jack doesn't have a Sunday alternate, mister. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Brian in Boston
When your crosstown rival is known to local media as "the Pinstripers", when the phrase "he's putting on pinstripes" will never ever be applied to one of your signings, it's time to put them away for good.I couldn't agree less. The Mets sported pinstripes in their very first season and - the rise of alternate jerseys and mix-and-match uniform combos in MLB over the past 10 to 15 years notwithstanding - have officially listed a pinstriped uniform as their primary home outfit in at least 51 of their 53 seasons of existence. If memory serves me, I think 2010 and 2011 were the only years the Mets listed a non-pinstriped white uniform as their home primary. Is the "snow white" uniform a good look? Absolutely. Could it have a place in the Mets' uniform package? Certainly. Personally, I'd opt for...Home Uniform - Cream w/ blue pinstripesRoad Uniform - Solid Grey w/ blue piping on jersey placket and down legs of pantsHome Sunday Uniform - White w/ blue piping on jersey placket and down legs of pantsOne cap - blue with the orange interlocking "NY" monogram and an orange button - would be worn with all uniform combos. That's it. Simple. Traditional. Perfect.
Dekabreak
I don't mind the home jerseys going from cream to white. I thought the mid 90s home jerseys were perfect. The glacier twill was underrated. The camo jerseys are garbage, but at least they'll be used for like 5 games.
Phils Phan
I don't care if the camo's only worn five times, it's part of their year long regular season rotation and that's a disgrace, something historic could happen in one of those games and it'll be a disgrace. And those unis would be perfect if not for the annoying little white outline around everything. Phillies, Bears, and new NYFC fan.
BBTV
yeah the white outline does kinda ruin it. Gives a "classic" jersey a '70s/'80s feel.I hate that jersey cut too with pinstripes, but I guess that's how its always been. Sorry for the large image but here it is without the outline.
