Away, away alt, orange and black ones are looking pretty bad. Inconsistent piping on every single one plus a bad choice of script on the orange. I think the gold has been a nice addition to the black and orange, plus has local ties. The Giants really make orange, black, and gold work. Somewhat related - the mothership is missing a lot of the new stuff for the Giants over the last couple of years. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. The away was perfect until they put the piping in, now it just looks pretty good. The orange alt with the old script is absolutely gorgeous, piping or not. I can ignore the other alts, because while they're certainly not the best looking uniforms, they're not bad enough to take down the others.Maybe I'm bias but I do think they're the best looking team in baseball, a lot of the "untouchables" bore me to tears. It's a beautiful jersey and it's only made better by how seamlessly it fits in with their ballpark. Modern classic uniform set in a modern classic ballpark. How can you beat that? The road set has always bugged me a bit. It fit perfectly back in New York, but trying to fit a word as hefty as San Francisco has always been problematic. That's one of the reasons I wouldn't mind them switching to the road alt on a permanent basis (and it has some history, too), or ore preferably just making a grey version of the home jersey to wear on the road. I don't mind the cursive script as long as it's kept to the Orange and black alt jerseys. It'd be nice to see their cream and grey sets feature the old times Giants script and the colored alts use the cursive script. That would be fairly clean across the board and would represent two really important eras of Giants baseball (the New York days and the Candlestick days) which I think should be represented more. In fact, out of all of our road options, this is clearly my favorite. The "CHICAGO" script is weak and just plain-jane. Plain-jane can work for some (New York comes to mind), but they've had a consistent road look. The Cubs have not, going from an all-blue look, to their mid-1900's look, to baby blue, to a blue softball-pullover, to the Cuba script to CHICAGO. Plain-jane for the Cubs is...blech. Their home look? Consistent and beautiful. Their road identity has never been either.Do I love this look? Maybe love is pushing it. But I really like the slight blue piping down the center, the pop of red numbers and the overall look. It's solid. And imo, 10x that of the CHICAGO script, which just needs to go. The cream is getting tired and between in and the unspeakably pointless gold drop shadow the script doesn't "pop", it just gets muddled. Also the shoulder patcher is completely pointless, it just the front script behind a baseball. TOTALLY necessary... Their 90's homes were much better, even with the terrible, terrible number font. Only that given the current road combinations presently available, you can sign me up for their current alternates every day over the CHICAGO script. Neither are home runs. I quite like some of the cursive scripts they used in the 1930's.
