That's a cool hat, no doubt, and I even own one from the last time they wore it. But their current hat is the most solid one they've ever had by a country mile. I also think it's the best look they've ever had aside from the navy CA California Angels hat with the red brim, which is my absolute favorite, but the ship on that set has long since sailed.The red-on-red on the current cap looks awful. Still think they should wear it 41 times a year, but, I'll take it.edit: okay that's not why they wore orange, but I expect it'll be the same frequency regardless. Nice, clean flat embroidery with the silver halo as a subtle but very nice touch. The 2011 caps, otoh, came out looking more like this.(This particular cap actually looks a LOT cleaner than the Angels 2011 throwback caps, but it still illustrates my point fairly well)Oddly distorted CA with the unnecessary raised embroidery that bled into the outline, and a white halo. Plus, they were early Chinese made polyester. The Chinese made poly caps are always terrible, but before they upped the quality last year, they were damn near 59 Fifty knockoffs. Yuck. The red "A" and "Angels" looks horrible and nearly lost against red backgrounds, and I don't know that a white "A" would be that much of an improvement because then they'd venture a tiny bit into a "Cardinals West" look. Point is, the only way to remedy it all is to actually look like the Angels again and bring back the navy crown.And I sorta get the "red vs. blue" thing the Dodgers and Angels have going on, but I also find it completely unnecessary. I know it's not like an official thing or anything, but I still don't think it's a necessary thing. One team shouldn't have to look it's worst just so a city can have a color battle. Keep the halo A, they can change it's appearance drastically but they need to keep the basic concept.2. Stop this red-on-red nonsense. I'm mixed on what hat color they should wear, but no matter what they need to make the A a different color.3. Cut back on the logo overkill. Their current set has 4 halo As on each one of them. I still can't comprehend why they added their primary logo to their right sleeve when the logo was already near that sleeve within their wordmark to begin with. The only difference really is the 3D embroidery.
