Still MIGHTY 3,834 Posted March 2, 2015 Bruce Del Negro continues to win games in spite of himself, and it's going to come back to bite the Ducks in the playoffs. What exactly do you mean by that?
DaRadniz29 89 Posted March 2, 2015 Sharks send James Sheppard to Rangers for 4th round pick in 2016 Draft. Apparently, the reason behind this trade is to give Hertl more time at his natural position (Center). He's had the most success centering Kennedy, though Tyler Kennedy is rumored to be on the trading block as well, so Hertl might be Centering himself on the the third line tomorrow...Additionally, Tye McGinn has been placed on waivers.
SabresRule7361 553 Posted March 2, 2015 How can a coach win in spite of himself in hockey? NHL coaches don't have to balance starting rotations/bullpens like baseball managers, call offensive plays like NFL coaches, juggle minutes for starting fives/benches like NBA coaches.

Yes they do. They have to match lines with the other team, find chemistry on their own lines, juggle their own lineup, manage their goaltender usage, make special teams choices. And they still have to manage egos and attitudes in the dressing room in addition to running practices, film reviews, and their assistant staff.

tigerslionspistonshabs 1,638 Posted March 2, 2015 Can anyone tell me why it seemed the Panthers were shooting for a playoff run in acquiring Jagr, but then traded 2 of their forwards in Bergenheim and Fleischmann?
the admiral 28,718 Posted March 2, 2015 Because they're not that good and asked for trades. The Panthers have NHL-ready forward prospects to spare. What do you do with that?
FGM13 767 Posted March 2, 2015 The Flyers FINALLY get Braydon Coburn off their hands, trading him to Tampa Bay for Radko Gudas and a couple of picks. Also, Jeff Petry to Montreal for a couple of picks.
Brass 3,457 Posted March 2, 2015 I just realized the Panthers also got Dany Heatley, so that's a thing.

Tigers6884 493 Posted March 2, 2015 If only Heatley got traded to the Oilers...It would be semi-awkward if he got traded to Winnipeg
Brass 3,457 Posted March 2, 2015 Welp, if the Coyotes could somehow get McDavid or Eichel, they'll have a hell of a future in Quebec City.
Still MIGHTY 3,834 Posted March 2, 2015 Guys, the Sharks are totally going full rebuild/pushing for the Cup this time. Shipping out Kennedy, Desjardins, and Sheppard, taking on Ben Smith. I mean, WOW. This will restart the franchise/put them over the top.
FiddySicks 11,175 Posted March 2, 2015 I've seen this posted by at least five of my Facebook friends who are Sharks fans. God, this team is such a piss off.
Alex Houston 363 Posted March 2, 2015 God, this team is such a piss off. Yup. There's many things to be irked about when you're a fan of this team and quite frankly, I think it's making many of them, myself included, wondering if we'd rather just buyout the rest of our interest and go find something else or some other team to spend our time and energy on.

CS85 10,594 Posted March 2, 2015 Ben Smith is alright. He's got upside and plays a solid game. I liked him a lot. Desjardins does nothing for me, but he'll be released after the season and save the Blackhawks some cap or something, so yeah. There's still a half hour left until the deadline. Maybe Bowman/Q should trade Saad, Teravainen, Hartman, hell, trade Drew Iron. Clear it out. Let's get geriatric with this bitch.
