Pretty cool how you can deflect a goal in on a high stick when you're the Nashville Predators. Usually that goal gets washed out! Oh well, enjoy your AHL goalie taunt.

EDIT: oh, what a relief, the Isles regained the lead from the ill-gotten tie. It's a treat to watch Grabner fly. The Isles are fun.

What does Lupul expect to get from court? What financial damages has he occurred as the result of a friggin' tweet?

Not that I'd agree but his argument would be potential lost of endorsements (not that he needs more money) as company's don't want any association with people involved in such would be scandals.

I'd say though it has more of an effect of Cuthbert, but the fact is they are reacting as most normal people would to wild allegations. For all you know they win their lawsuit for defamation and donate the money to charity (which I'd hope they would).

I suspect going after guys on twitter would do more damage to his endorsement value than actual anonymous tweets about his night life.

People say stupid things on Twitter. There's some guy there pretending to be Mike Cammalleri (@MikeyCamms23), with a description that says:

i spend all my money on :censored: and fine wine.

Should we expect Mike Cammalleri to take that seriously and subsequently sue the creator of it for :censored: and fine wine?

A parody account and a statement of something (as a fact) are completely different. Again not even saying I agree with the lawsuits, just trying to show that there is rationale thought behind it and if people are going to be idiots they shouldn't get a free pass just because it's Twitter. If someone makes a death threat via Twitter should the police not be notified or should it just be a free pass because it's Twitter?

What the hell would Joffrey Lupul endorse? U-Haul?

There's this thing called free speech dude. And strong libel protections.

Yeah 100% there is freedom of speech and I support that and for the 3rd time I'm not in support of Lupul. But do people not still get charged with defamation? Do people not get charged for uttering death threats? There is such a gray area when it comes to this stuff, so to blanket it as simply "well free speech say whatever you want" is ignoring the fact that some things aren't okay to say.

If you saw someone using a racial slurs and threatening violence towards say a black person would you tell the victim "oh suck it up, they have freedom of speech" or would you call the police/tell them to call the police?

It's all in perceived harm of the statements, it's not about the fact that Lupul is a douche or that he's making $5 million bucks a year and should just ignore it (which I agree with you guys he should). It's the simple fact if someone was posting the same things about yourself or your wife/gf you would react in the same way Phaneuf/ Lupul are, and just because they are rich doesn't mean they have to ignore it anymore than you or I would.

If you prick me, do I not bleed? If I accuse you of sleeping with Elisha Cuthbert, do you not suspend me from the Dallas Stars?

Coyotes throwback night is, unfortunately, the last thing this team has to look forward to this season.

That said, the Yotes have done an excellent job of making it a thorough throwback night.

Speaking of Coyotes throwbacks...

The 'Yotes are back at it again. Trying to get the city of Glendale to give up some combination of reducing or getting rid of ticket and parking fees on concerts and special events at Gila River Arena. Basically some of the only money the city brings in from the arena...

Scumbags.

Good win for Corey Crawford tonight. Wish I could say the same for the rest of the Blackhawks. Jets need some wins, they're hanging by a thread here.

It's stupid that they try to charge in the lots in the first place. Because it's attached to a mall, they have free parking for mall goers even during games and concerts. You basically tell the attendants that you're there to see a movie and you don't have to pay for parking.

Man, they're trying to squeeze the last drop of blood from that stone before they haul ass out of town. It's despicable, but I can't blame them for doing it, seeing as how it's worked every single time previously.

See the 16 teams in the playoffs? I would love it if that field held. No Kings, no Sharks, Jets and Isles in. If the Senators can knock the Bruins out, that might be fun, too, actually. My fear is Kings in, Jets out, but other than that, we're set.

Even though last night's loss was pretty terrible for San Jose, they didn't play a bad game. Plenty of opportunities, the Nucks just ended up capitalizing on defensive miscues by - wait for it now, you'll be surprised - Brent Burns. There's only like 15 games left in the season, so how much damn longer does Burns need to turn into a competent defensemen again. Hell, he doesn't need to be a top four blueliner, but for all that's holy, he's been God awful at that spot this season.

By the way, great dirty plays by the Nucks too. Shoving Dillon and Mueller from behind and not getting a call, especially for the shot on Mueller, was pure crap. Vancouver should've never had that powerplay, but whatever, it's immaterial now. Good luck to those idiots in NorCal trying to figure out how to make something palatable out of the :censored: sandwich they've made for themselves.
