2014 Bowl Game Logo Changes & New Bowls

Recommended Posts

Here's a question: Is the National Bowl logo the National Championship game logo? Saw it new to the site a couple days ago, but never looked anything up about it. I know... I'm lazy :D

Can you post the logo?

The National Bowl is just another college all-star game for Seniors to showcase their talents to NFL teams.

Ah ok, gotcha. Thanks. Here's the logo for reference:

So is there going to be a logo for the championship game? Or are they just going to use the logo for which ever bowl is hosting it that year?

The national title game is a separate game whose location is up for bids each year so I imagine it will have its own logo. This year it just happens to be in jerryworld, but the cotton bowl is still happening. There could be a year where the national title is held at a place that doesn't host one of the 6 playoff bowls.

The National Championship has a pretty strong partnership with Dr. Pepper, so while the game won't technically have a bowl name, I'd say we'll see a lot of co-branding (The National Championship presented by Dr. Pepper).

I like that Fiesta Bowl logo coming back , but I never realized that it was the same font as the 80s Iowa State logo. It's a shame the Cyclones were never able (or good enough in the 80s) to attend the bowl.

A good chunk of these new bowls are owned by espn, which are clearly made for tv late december airtime. Some of these will be lucky to see 10k in attendance.

I just feel bad for the six teams that don't get to go to bowls.

Noone is left out because all those bowls get filled and the two "semi-final bowl winners go to a new championship game. There's too many bowls anyway if you can't get sponsorship for all of them and they're not profitable for anyone

Unfortunately I think two more bowls were certified for next year. If HEB starts sponsoring a bowl, we've got too many. Oh wait, we already do.

They could be sponsored by Sunkist again:Sunkist_logo_2008.jpg
I think Sunkist would've been a great fit as a sponsor for the Orange Bowl. There would've been some potential there for a really nice logo.

Cactus Bowl (former Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl) now has a logo...

That would be not bad if it wasn't a 40x100 image.
