CS85
To Cardinals fans: Congratulations, sincerely. It must be fun to be so spoiled and root for a team with awesome uniforms and a cool ballpark. My envy is unbreakable. I doubt I will ever know how this feels. CubsFanBudMan
To be honest, a matchup of the two teams that won the past four NL pennants is appealing... provided the winner loses in the World Series.
4_tattoos
It bugs me a little bit the Nats have opted to wear the red jerseys for every playoff game thus far. Hotter Than July > Thriller
DG_ThenNowForever
Regardless of who wins the American, there should be a feel-good team coming into the WS.Cardinals in 5I don't know. We may be getting to the point where the Giants become the cynic's choice. As a cynic, I am getting a pretty good feeling that the Cards or Giants will win it all...(again, no hate, just preference for something new). The winner of this year's NLCS may get a strong hold on the "most hated/envied team award." Though maybe not. Maybe, since AT&T Park is kinda a "fun place to hangout" and the fan base is not as "knowledgeable" and there is no "Giant Way", it remains the Cards regardless. But yeah, feel good AL team loses to Cards or Giants. McCarthy posts "this is why sports are no fun." I "like" the post. The Giants kinda feel different because for decades, they were snakebitten and could never win the big one. It's amazing how they went from a team many felt sorry for and wanted to see win to WE'RE TIRED OF THEMGuess America loves them some parityPeople turn on winners quickly. The Cardinals get extra hate because (NOT ALL BUT SOME OF OKAY???) their fans take so much pride in cheering the game "the right way," with the implicit assumption that other fanbases are less worthy. Again, not all Cardinals fans, but enough to make it count. Contrast that with Red Sox Nation that, while annoying because of its reach and volume, is at least pretty forward with being obnoxious because it's supporting a winner. Same with the Yankees. You can be a front-runner without asserting your fandom is superior. The Cardinals won't be able to walk that back for a long time. And while I know we're separating politics and sports, I do think there's some red vs. blue stuff going on below the surface as well.EDIT: The San Antonio Spurs have been more successful and similarly play the game "the right way." Their fan base manages to not be so obnoxious about it. It can be done! 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

DaRadniz29
Really awesome catch by Pence. Just curious,I know why the Nationals would have a revenge aspect if they play the Cardinals in the NLCS. However, what is Matt Vasgersian talking about with the Giants. What revenge would he be talking about? The only thing I can think of is the hard slide by Holliday in the 2012 NLCS, but the Giants ended up winning that series. Not saying there isn't revenge on the Giants side, but I'm lost as to what Matty V is talking about. Memory is a bit foggy.

FiddySicks
I had a feeling Strickland vs Harper was a losing proposition.Yeah I don't get that matchup. A power pitcher who tends to have control issues vs a free swinging power hitter who has a tendency to kill mistake pitches? That's pretty much the worst possible matchup I could think of. I would've gone with Petit in that instance. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) I've seen that worn more than once during the seventh inning stretch, not sure if it's the same woman every time singing though.Edit: Does that runner's lane apply to a pitcher too? dbadefense1990
Baseball's the cruelest sport of all. I sickens me the most of its outcomes, sometimes more-so than hockey (incoming mod ban in 3...2...1...).I don't know what to say. 4/5th's of the time during the 4-game series, the Dodgers were in total control. Then the St. Louis 7th and 8th innings in all games devoured the souls of all people associated in Dodger blue. Kershaw, Mattingly, the bullpen, Puig. I just can't speak how stunned I actually am. Yep, the Baseball Gods hate the Dodgers and all they stand for. At this rate, a nuclear winter would come 1st before a Dodgers World Series in my lifetime. Sad.Silver-lining, though: you Cardinals and Giants fans can have October. But the Earth balances out in April/May, when the Sharks and Blues flame out, while the Kings go the farthest of the three. So with that in mind...HOCKEY STARTS TOMORROW! LET'S REPEAT, KINGS!!!

It has such a great atmosphere and charm. Granted a lot of the charm (ie. the stank) is the reason many people don't like it. Granted I will never root for the Cubs to win the World Series, but hey, at least you guys have the Cup. I'm starting to think I'll never know how that feels. Plus at least you have a NBA team to root for, and don't have to worry about losing your NFL team.Gotta think of the positives! That being said: Bring on San Fran! HedleyLamarr
These home-plate rules really need to be simplified.I get why they're in place. But ultimately, much like icing in hockey, there's so few injuries in relation to how many times we see a possible home plate situation. Thankfully, the umps and MLB upheld the "out" call, because this is a common-sense "out". There were a few occasions where an obvious out was overturned because of the language of the rules instead of the intent of the rules.MLB should simplify this, especially for home plate. Scrap the modifications they made before this season and have it be more like the NFL's "defenseless player" rulings.
