Surprised that neither the Giants or the Royals have worn their alternate jerseys in the WS, would have liked to see KC´s royal blue jersey at least one time.

I remember the Cardinals last year did use their cream jerseys in the WS.

Anyone remember other world series where alt. uniforms were used ?

I'm glad both teams decided to wear their best looks for their biggest moment. Alternates shouldn't be worn in the playoffs. I'm glad the Giants didn't wear their crappy and pointless alternate hats, either.

As for who wore alts in the World Series, both Marlins titles were won in alternates (vests and then blacks). The Indians wore navy on the road for their games in 1997. The Diamondbacks wore their home vests and black alts in 2001. The Rockies wore their black vests in 2007. The Rangers wore their alternate hats in 2011. I think the Giants may have worn their orange-brimmed hats in 2010, but I'm not sure.

In general, I feel that a 7-game World Series is, by default, at least a "pretty good" series. But this one is really testing that idea. Going into Game 7 is always exciting but if this games ends up 8-0 or something, it's going to be about as boring of a 7-Game series as you can have...one game (if I am not mistaken) decided by fewer than five runs.

I am pulling for the Royals, but I think what I care about more than that is that the game is in doubt going into at least the 8th.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Cubs have hired Joe Maddon, reportedly. They informed Renteria of their decision earlier today, I guess. Yay?

I actually had a dream last night in which I was informed that Maddon was named Cubs manager. I was super excited, especially when this imaginary informant told me that Rick Renteria was to stick around as bench coach (or something like that).

In reality, though, I have a weird feeling that this move will probably come back and bite the Cubs in the butt. Probably because Renteria was initially hired due to his reputation as being great with both young players and Latin American players, which the Cubs have a surplus of.

Über-pessimistic Cubs fan prediction? The Cubs underachieve à la Rays these two or three years while Rick Renteria leads the Dodgers to a World Series.

Maddon is bi-lingual as well, so I don't think it's a huge drop-off. I think the guy clearly wants to be here, but larger than that is that it gives the Cubs a huge leverage factor in attracting free agents. I feel afraid to even speak up for the Cubs because they have over a century of pissing down their leg going against them. I can't even be excited for this because of this stigma. Deep down I'm terribly excited for this, but I've been burned too many times.

For some mystical reason, I sense a grave danger coming for Kansas City in Game 7. Something to the level of a close, rollercoaster game in which the Royals lead late, only to lose the lead in the 8th or 9th, with Bumgarner in relief striking out the KC side after they acquired the bases loaded with nobody out.

Stop being so dramatic. "Grave danger".

Oh c'mon. Game 6 was a little too perfect for the Royals.

The Giants have more experience in these situations. Bruce Bochy has never lost a postseason elimination game as manager, while Yost has never won a World Series Game 7 in any form. Then there's the whole Bumgarner shark lurking.

Let's enjoy Game 7, but I got a bad feeling it won't end pretty.

Please. If anything, no matter how many 120+ win seasons the Dodgers (or any other NL team for that matter) can accomplish, a 50-wins-or-below Giants or Cardinals will always game the postseason.

No matter what happens tonight, I'm just happy I get to watch one more Giants game this season.

Here's hoping for the best, but either way, what a kick ass postseason.

Uh, Game 4 in 1998?

Eh, screw it. I like the Giants more. I want them to finish this off.
