2014-5 NBA Season Thread: We Are North American Ballerz

I don't know what exactly took place in Detroit, but I'd assume that there was some differences in basketball philosophy between the coach and Josh Smith.

Josh Smith is an uncoachable player. The year (or years...I think he was here a couple of years) that Jerry Stackhouse was with the Hawks, he and I were having a pre-game conversation. Mainly about the state of the team, the direction the league's going, etc....Josh Smith was brought up. He talked about his talents and that he is capable of being at a level just short of LeBron if he only allowed himself to be team-first instead of me-first. Jerry mentioned how Smith was constantly waving his hands in the air and saying he's open, and Jerry would say "There's a reason why you're not being guarded at the 3-point line.".

I wonder if Detroit fans started to groan and shout "No!" whenever Smith cocked back for a 3-point attempt. It became a daily pastime at Hawks games as his tenure grew.

Im so so so excited to see just how bad Kobe is going to crash and burn. You just know that there's NO WAY he's gonna bow out gracefully. It's gonna be such a blast to see him make Brett Favre look like Barry Sanders. I picture him chucking up threes in garbage time next season for the Jazz or T Wolves while giving every member of the Lakers the death eye.

Thank you, Detroit Pistons, for waving Josh Smith intead of, ya know, trading him for players that could actually benefit the team. (/sarcasm)

They tried. No one wants him on that contract.

Word on the street is that the Jazz have no interest in bringing back Andrei Kirilenko, someone who has sentimental value (if nothing else) to the team. Why would they bring on a much-hated, washed-up Kobe Bryant?

I just picked a bottom of the barrel western conference team and ran with it. Ok, Kings, is that better? Point is, this thing has the potential to get WAY ugly, and I hope it does.

Awesome win by the Clippers. They came out really flat in the 1st quarter, but they came to life in the second half. Nice to see them hold their own against another top western team for once.

Spencer Hawes is rocking the hell out of that epic Christmas suit. I'm impressed.

Loved everything about Heat-Cavs. LeBron was received in the way he deserved, though it was funny the Heat prepared a tribute of equal length for James Jones' return. Great effort by Wade and Deng. Might be a great 2/7 matchup in the works!

Please stop including the Knicks and Lakers on Christmas, NBA. It's a waste. The other games were great, save for the fourth quarter of LAC-GS.

The Knicks at least have history on there side here, as they hosted the 1st christmas game. The Lakers made no sense though.
