Vancouver Canucks Jersey Circa 1917 (Logolympiad Entry)

Recommended Posts

To explain my concept:

In 1917 the Vancouver Canucks Hockey Club were trying to figure out a way to make some sturdy and warm hockey sweaters. To this end they went to the local Haida Tribe and had them construct the sweaters. The Haida crafts-people chose to use the design of their traditional blankets, To honor the tribe the Canucks chose to use a Haida style killer whale as their logo.

I like the logo. The jersey is kind of reminds me of mardi gras.

Not historically correct. The Haida are indigenous to Haida Gwaii, an area once known as the Queen Charlotte Islands. Quite a jaunt from Vancouver in 1917, certainly not local to Vancouver. Just sayin'.

it's cool but needs some work. stretch the logo out more, it's too cluttered.
