monkeypower 3,137 Posted December 11, 2014 Dan Haren is allegedly threatening to retire instead of playing for the Marlins.I remember hearing or reading that he suffered depression (or something similar) playing for the Nats because he was lonely and away from his family in California playing on the East Coast, so it might stem from that.
masterchaoss 297 Posted December 11, 2014 So what I've been hearing is that the Dodgers would be useing the prospects from the Miami deal and the potential kemp to San Diego deal to get hamels. I'm not sure how much wight there is to it, but things make some sense now if this is the case.
FiddySicks 11,369 Posted December 11, 2014 Aaaaand now the D Backs ship Wade Miley to the Red Sox for absolutely nothing. I don't get this off season.
FGM13 767 Posted December 11, 2014 What the hell is happening? Not a single move this season has made sense for all the teams involved.

I don't get this off season.Welp, it freaking makes sense now. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/dodgers-acquire-howie-kendrick.htmlThis off season has been an absolute nightmare.
Shumway 2,354 Posted December 11, 2014 Howie Kendrick to the Dodgers, and I'm living in a puddle of my own tears.(Not really, but my favorite player just went to the Dodgers.)
monkeypower 3,137 Posted December 11, 2014 From what I have looked up, I think I like this Heaney guy. Young, team controlled lefty who's ranked 18 in the top 100 prospects. As much as I like Howie, he's over 30 and in the final year of his contract. And the Angels were able to get a good, young pitcher.
LMU 7,797 Posted December 11, 2014 If this keeps going on, the Dodgers will eventually trade their own players for each other and cause a hole in the space-time continuum allowing them to trade Brandon League and Brian Wilson for 1963 Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale.
cmm 386 Posted December 11, 2014 Andrew Heaney on the twitter:Well, @Dodgers we had a good run! Great to be a part of such a storied franchise. #thanksforthememories

kewp80 64 Posted December 11, 2014 What the hell is happening? Not a single move this season has made sense for all the teams involved.Cardinals' moves made sense to me I could see us picking up a utility/middle infielder with a good glove, and a veteran reliever, or some veteran 4-5 rotation starter in case Marco Gonzalez, Carlos Martinez, or Jamie Garcia doesn't pan out this spring. It would also be nice to have a right handed bat that could spell/platoon with Matt Adams. It's baisically status quo once again for the Redbirds this offseason. Which makes me very excited for next season. With all the lefties in our lineup (Adams, Carpenter, Heyward, Jay, Wong) I could see us pounding some right handed pitching.
kewp80 64 Posted December 11, 2014 And sign Brandon McCarthy. They've certainly been busy. And sources say they're getting Jimmy Rollins through a trade.
