With Conference Championship Weekend only a day away, here's a scenario that's a bit chaotic:

Wins Championship Game

1. Alabama beats Missouri in the SEC Title Game

2. Oregon beats Arizona in the Pac 12 Championship

3. TCU beats Iowa State

Loses Championship Game and/or last game of "regular" season

4. Florida State loses big to Georgia Tech ACC Championship

5. Ohio State loses to Wisconsin in the Big Ten Title Game

6. Baylor loses to Kansas State

7. Arizona loses to Oregon in Pac12 Championship

8. Michigan St. (Idle)

9. Kansas State (Beats #6 Baylor)

10. Mississippi State (Idle)

Not saying any of this will happen, but other than maybe GT blowing out FSU, the rest is still very possible. In the even this does happen (I'm going to get a lotto ticket!) would the committee keep Florida State in since they only have one loss, a CG blowout loss or do you bump up a #8 Sparty or #9 K-State or even Wisconsin into the number #4?

Edit: Also McElwain to Florida is a done deal. Buyout seems to be worked out and now they expect the University of Florida to introduce McElwain sometime Saturday. ESPN

I think Nebraska made a great choice in Mike Riley because he's a proven winner. And let's not forget before he got here, Oregon State had only 4 winning seasons in 30 years and he turned them into a solid program. For Michigan, I believe they will hire Kyle Whittingham from Utah.

Riley's 61 and his last few Oregon State teams have shown a definite regression. He's probably the lowest ceiling of all the guys Nebraska could have hired, which is ridiculous when you just fired a guy who won 9-10 games for 7 straight seasons.

That's fantastic.

I'd love to see a Zona upset, but history favors the previously losing team. I'm taking generally here, not Pac-12 specific, but it seems like a good deal of the time in CCG Rematch games the former loser lays down a whoopin'

Freshly photoshopped this morning. And yes, I realize that he technically wouldn't be wearing a headset during a practice, but they were the only suitable images I could find.

I think that's true regardless of sport and regardless of significance of the game. Football is a little bit different because rarely do you play a team twice, especially in college football.

It's pretty hard to beat the same team twice. In football you tend to learn a lot more from losing than you do from winning so the team that won the first game tries to repeat exactly what they did the first time, but the team they're playing isn't playing the same way that led to them being successful in the first game. (See: Patriots-Giants 2007)

Just don't tell that to the 1999 Jacksonville Jaguars who won 15 games and lost 3 and all 3 were to the Tennessee Titans.

That favors the Ducks. I hope they blow the doors off of those gradient shouldered clowns.

Plus, UofA has never won the Pac-10/12 outright. (They were co-champs once in 1993 with UCLA, but lost the Rose Bowl tiebreak to the Bruins because UofA lost in Pasadena.)

So, yes, Go Ducks, indeed.

Prior to the recent expansion, U of A was the only Big Ten (11 teams) or Pac 10 (10 teams) team to never have made the Rose Bowl. Correct? I'd like to see that change, though with the BCS and now the tourney, those things are not as key...Wisconsin may win the B1G tomorrow and will not be in the Rose.

I am kinda pulling for the Cats...an outright PAC title for them would be a first; which is always fun.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

No, it's absolutely not fun! It would kill one of my all time favorite jokes!

Q: What do you call an Arizona Wildcat player with a Rose Bowl ring?

A: A Thief.

Not really. They would still need some help to make the Rose Bowl.
