I know Solomon is young, and he made some good plays, but boy did he make some COSTLY mistakes. Rich Rod 'bout had a heart attack. I know I would have. But, I think that Solomon has great potential, and it'll be fun to see him improve each year at Arizona.

I've watched him pretty closely this year and I honestly don't get the hype. He absolutely killed the Wildcats today. He missed so many passes to guys who were absolutely WIDE OPEN. It was the difference between them winning this thing going away, and losing.

And that Arizona defense. Woof.

In fairness, Yates and the defense limited his options and wisely made him try to beat them by himself, banking on the fact that he would get tired and start making mistakes. Also, Arizona's defensive coaches made great adjustments in the second half and completely shut down Boise's offense. Unfortunately for them, it was just too late.

Mark Helfrich (Oregon HC) said he will punish the players who started the "no means no" chant.

I predict the punishment will be a classic slap on the wrist.

He'll probably turn the evidence over to the Tallahassee police department and let them deal with it.

But what should it be?

Suspend them for the game?

It was nothing too egregious except for repeating a questionable joke they heard at a comedy club a couple days before in a setting it's not meant for. Likely just means running a few stairs and/or a suspension for like a quarter or half.

I really hope it means something that does not translate to missing any time. Make 'em go to class or something.

Oregon starts classes this coming Monday so looks like they have no choice before the CG.

Also, I can't help but notice how 'red, purposefully or truthfully, downplays Ohio State at each chance. (these are gist comments; go with it) - "[Even with a 59-0 B1G-CG win], I still feel they aren't top-four", "stunned as anyone they beat Alabama", "don't expect the winner of [the Sugar Bowl] to beat Oregon". I mean, I admire the sincerity of being objective and not being blinded by homerism; it's certainly the one thing no one around here can accuse you of, but it is nonetheless amusing, and I can't help but let my cynical side wonder just a bit if you aren't just doing this so that, if and when Ohio State does win, it makes the joy and satisfaction feel that much greater.

God's honest truth, I don't do it for any reason other than it's what I honestly believe at the time I say it. I don't make any extra effort to make sure people don't see me as a homer or anything. When it comes to my beloved Buckeyes, I'm just trying to be as objective as I can. That said, I will admit that I try not to brag or be too obnoxious when Ohio State beats Michigan, wins a B1G title, or a bowl game, etc. If you look back over the years, I think you'll find that I'm not always successful in my efforts. (the 2011 Sugar Bowl is a good example.)

With regard to the examples you bring up, this is what I was thinking at the time...

Why I didn't think the Buckeyes should make the playoff after the 59-0 dismantling of Wisconsin: I thought that 59-0 win was due as much to Wisconsin being really overrated as it was to the Buckeyes being that good. The win over Michigan State was really their only "signature" win of the season up to that point. In addition, they still had that bad loss to VT, they'd struggled to beat a very average Penn State team, and the Michigan win wasn't exactly dominant. In my mind, even though they had just destroyed Wisconsin, the Buckeyes still didn't have a resume that warranted moving them past TCU or Baylor - a thought a lot of people shared at the time. In my opinion, they had two "good" wins on the season - MSU and Wisconsin.

Being stunned that the Buckeyes beat Alabama: Again, I'm hardly the only person who was thinking that last night. It was Alabama, dude. The Galactic Empire of college football. No one thought we'd win that game. Then I see my team bitch-slapping the :censored: out of the #1 team in the nation. So yeah, I was a little surprised. And just to show you that I'm not all humility and objectivity when it comes to my Buckeyes - that game was never as close as the score. The Buckeyes gift wrapped two Alabama TDs and they got a little rattled in the 4th quarter because I think they suddenly realized the enormity of what they were doing. If they keep their heads straight in the 4th last night, 'Bama never gets back in the game. Ohio State from the lowly B1G went into the heart of SEC country and kicked the :censored: out of THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE. Yeah, I was a little surprised at how easy it was. Admit it, so were you. B)

On neither Alabama or Ohio State being able to beat Oregon: This is the best Ducks team I can remember. They have a QB who can do more than just run the read option, they have a pretty solid defense, and they just wear you out with their tempo. If Ohio State can hang with the Ducks in the second half, I like their chances. I'm just not sure the Buckeyes can keep up with the Ducks for 60 minutes. Then again, I didn't think they'd beat Alabama.

Hope that clears it up for you. B)

That's just low. It's things like this that make me shake my head at how stupid fans get over a stupid game. I'm a big Oregon fan, yet I know better than to go destroy someone else's stuff after an Oregon loss. I wish people would think before they act.

Oh Jim Mora Jr. You stay classy, guy.

He and UCLA really do deserve each other.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. Playoffs actually add some excitement and also adds an element of surprise and drama. It's much better than just handpicking the national championship participants.

Let's hope the Tallahassee PD gets right on that case ;)

Well, since the football players are the victims instead of being the accused, the Tallahassee PD will find the time to thoroughly invstigate this....

This is priceless. My favorite part - "Ohio State, what have y'all really done to impress the nation?" Well, we beat Alabama so there's that.

But I gotta give him credit. He manned up and took his beating.

My favorite part was probably "Suck on an Alabama n**s***" Big props to him for manning up though.

After today's win by Florida in the Birmingham Bowl (one of three bowls that seems to be too cheap to find a sponsor), I guess I can amend my opinion on the SEC...

The SEC West are paper tigers.

The East goes 5-0 in bowl games while the West goes 2-5 (0-3 in the New Year's Six) and the wins came from the bottom feeders: Texas A&M and Arkansas

A couple amendments:

Arkansas and A&M weren't bottom feeders. They finished in the bottom two, but the SEC-W was very even this year.

Don't forget that the SEC-E went 0-4 against the ACC on the last week of the season. Add in the Mizzou loss to Indiana and Tennesee's loss to Oklahoma, and the SEC-E doesn't look good either.

All in all, a very strange very for the SEC. They beat each other up throughout the season, which resulted in no team surviving the end of the season as elite. I think Ole Miss would've beaten any team in the country the week they beat Alabama. Same for Mississippi State the week they beat Auburn and for Alabama the week they beat Texas A&M.

That being said, none of them were beating Oregon at end of the season. Or Ohio State, apparently, who I think has a decent shot at beating Oregon come next Monday.

I also like that he points to OSU hanging their hat on a (in his eyes, worthless) win over Wisconsin. I might have forgotten, but is that the same Wisconsin who beat Tide Jr. in the bowl game?
