kewp80
Watching College Gameday (I think they have an unhealthy obsession with NDSU) this morning and they were talking about all the famous NFL players that have come from FCS/D1-AA. They kept talking about Randy Moss, but Randy's Sophomore and final year was in FBS/D1-A when Marshall jumped into the MAC. Besides he signed to Notre Dame, got in trouble and moved to Florida State and got redshirted as a freshman, got in more trouble, and moved to FCS Marshall so he wouldn't lose a year of eligibility. Shoot he finished 4th in the Heisman ballot in 1998!I think it's a very healthy obsession as they are a great team. What I don't understand is why they're at THIS game. Incarnate Word was a D-II team, and I believe they are still in a transition phase. Next week, NDSU plays Montana which would've been a much better game to have Gameday at.EDIT: Incarnate Word is fully D-I now, my bad.Don't get me wrong I love seeing College Gameday and ESPN represent the smaller schools, but did they ever go to Appalachian State when they won three championships in a row?Obviously they felt there really weren't any big enough games in FBS this week. Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool Check out my music!
JayMac
And ESPN has to at least pretend that there are more schools that exist past the Power 5.
crashcarson15
Yeah there's, what, one game this week between two Top 25 teams? That's why they felt this would be a good week for NDSU.
JayMac
Isnt it an SEC game though? Hard to believe that the worldwide leaders didn't jump on that one.

dfwabel
Isnt it an SEC game though? Hard to believe that the worldwide leaders didn't jump on that one.It is a CBS game and they try to avoid those early in the season. Plus all the production trucks were in Eugene last week, which was FOX telecast. Eugene to Fargo is a little closer and going to two nonESPN sites in two weeks isn't that great for continuity. CS85
I know nothing of college football, but VT is getting whomped at home against a significantly uglier team. He built the program up from the bottom of the SEC to a team that competed at a much better level.Really sad to see Georgia Southern lose it at the end. Same with Maryland. But that Maryland-WVU game was really fun to watch.
