93 yard TD Pass, UCLA narrows the deficit to 3, 24-21 Utah. UCLA Defense holds and UCLA has the ball again, 4th QTR.

UCLA with a massive dud of a drive, getting sacked all 3 plays before the punt.

Minutes after this, UCLA throws a long TD pass, Bruins up 28-27. Late 4th QTR.

goostradamus?

Well, they basically soccer'd their way to an extra chance at that field goal, but he still missed! Helluva game for Utah.

Wow. College football is the best with days like this.

Also, if anyone wants to see a game with no defense and both QBs putting up crazy numbers, check out the Cal/Wazzu game. Wazzu's QB has nearly 650 yards and 6 TDs with over 8 minutes to go still.

This is probably the most facepalm worthy game I've ever seen, but damn is it fun. 54-52 Cal leading Washington State.

I love the PAC 12. Even the worst teams in that conference are still entertaining.

Just a first guess at the new Top 10:

1. Florida State - Routed Wake Forest

2. Auburn - Routed #15 LSU

3. Notre Dame - beat #14 Stanford by 3.

4. Ole Miss - beat Alabama by 6

5. Mississippi State - Routed Texas A&M

6. Baylor - Beat Texas by 21

7. Alabama - Lost to #11 Ole Miss by 6

8. Michigan State - beat Nebraska by 5

9. Oklahoma - Lost to #25 TCU by 4

10. Oregon - Lost to Arizona by 7

*******************

Still not sure where to put Texas A&M will land. Maybe Georgia at No. 11 and Texas A&M at No. 12

*******************

You could flip Alabama and Michigan State. However Alabama single possession road loss to a undefeated Ole Miss team shouldn't hurt the Crimson Tide a whole bunch. 4-5 Spot drop should be the most they drop after all the other top 10 losses.

I know it's really up for grabs, but it's fun trying to figure it out. Auburn could even move up to number 1, because you know, according to NCAA and everything: SEC > Everything else.

Anyone got their top 4,5, 10, 12, 25? :D

Edit: There's also a holding party in the Washington State Endzone. Come on Cal.

Absolutely bonkers day of college football.

Top 25 is a mess. Playoff picture is a mess. Conference standings are a mess. And that's all fantastic. College football is at its best when either the elite teams all win out or its in absolute chaos. Chaos is more fun.

Cal ends up winning 60-59!

Cal is off to a good start at 4-1 and should have won that Arizona game. They could easily lose their last 7 games though looking at their schedule. A couple of upsets and Cal is bowl eligible.

Sigh..

UCLA wasted a glorious opportunity to improve their ranking. I couldn't watch the whole game, but what I did see was a defense who couldn't stop the zone read and an offensive line who doesn't realize their primary objective is to block the opponent from getting to their QB instead of opening a highway of suffering to their QB.

Clearly, no one (except maybe Arizona) wants to represent this conference in the Playoff.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

Looks like Gameday is down to either Starkville or Waco for next week.

EDIT- Starkville it is!!!

I was hoping for Tucson, but that would have required 1) USC to not play the worst Hail Marry coverage ever seen and 2) ESPN to decide to mix it up and not go to an SEC school again. That said, Mississippi State vs Auburn is clearly the best match-up next weekend, regardless of USC playing a Hail Marry like a punt.

My ballot for the College Football Playoff after a month:

1. Florida St.

2. Auburn

3. Mississippi St.

4. Ole Miss

Outside looking in: Notre Dame, Baylor

How the Poll will probably look:

1. Florida St.

2. Auburn

3. Notre Dame

4. Ole Miss

5. Mississippi St.

6. Baylor

7. Michigan St.

8. Alabama

9. Oregon

10. Georgia

But there's still a lot of big games left, ND still has to go to Tallahassee. And Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi St. all have yet to play each other.
