TheRicSlick
So at least some UAB boosters are objecting to the current status quo regarding football in the University of Alabama system.Particularly the part where they suspect the trustees are planning to strangle UAB football in the cradle.Ha, "One less dime is one less waterfall for Bama", that's classic. dbadefense1990
My Bowl Projections (Based of my rankings)I know you think I'm playing favorites to Oregon, but it's the same formula I've been using all year and they just so happen to be #1COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFChampionship Bowl - Semifinal winners - Sugar Bowl - Semifinal 1 vs. Semifinal 4.......Oregon vs. AuburnRose Bowl - Semifinal 2 vs. Semifinal 3.......Florida St. vs. AlabamaAnd here lies the 1st fault of the College Football Playoff. No matter how the rankings go, it'll be all likely that the Sugar Bowl will house at least one SEC team by default. If the intention of the CFP committee is to mitigate the games in Pasadena and New Orleans from as much of the locale conference influence as possible (i.e. avoid having a PAC-12 team at the Rose Bowl or an SEC team at the Sugar Bowl), then there's flaw in this. In this example, if we swapped the positions of Auburn and Florida State, the Sugar Bowl is at its most neutral, but then we get an all-SEC semifinal (in which non-SEC fans could find disgust in either not going to the game or not watching it on TV). So in this case, Oregon/Auburn would the the Rose Bowl, FSU/Bama the Sugar.

BlackBolt3
This is a prime position for another Clemsoning right now... up by 3 on lowly Wake Forest, only due to self-inflicted wounds. Cole Stoudt is a sorry excuse for a quarterback. The referees were terrible both ways too, but that's a lesser issue. This game was hard for me to watch, since I now have connections with both schools, even tougher in the the stadium with terrible winds, and knowing no matter what, you'll win and lose. But, I want to go to Miami, so I showed up in Clemson gear. FiddySicks
I posted this in the GYG thread, but I just had to put this giant pile of horsedung here too. http://www.statepress.com/2014/10/16/a-day-at-camp-fargo/The fact that this stupid newspaper is trying to push Arizona State's student ticket process as a good sign, rather than the absolute nonsense it really is, is absolutely astounding. ASU has turned the student ticket process into an absolute nightmare. Two seasons ago it was as easy as waking up early on Wednesday to reserve your seat and going to casually get your wristband on game day. It's quickly eroded to the point where you have to camp out for a week to get lower deck seats whenever they play anyone of note. I camped out for the PAC 12 title game last year and it was definitely a fun experience. But I don't have the luxury of extra time like I did last year so I can't do that for this game. And what's so egregious about this year is that student tickets are now a MANDATORY purchase for students, yet due to the renovations, it's first come first serve. If we get there too late, sucks to be us I guess. If I miss out on getting my ticket to this game, WHICH I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR, I'm gonna flip a googolplex of tables. This is your reminder that Kirk Ferentz is under contract at Iowa until January 2020 and his buyout is roughly $13 million. DS729
Would it be fair to call ND-ASU a playoff elimination game? Either way, this should be a great game.

dfwabel
To All:When was the last "big game" which Bob Stoops actually won? Texas Tech in 08? (Not sure even if that counts because it's still Texas Tech)Last year's Sugar Bowl was an exhibition, so that is not in play.Same for Mark Richt. 2012 against Florida? Remember when Oklahoma knocked off then-ranked #6 Oklahoma State to snake into a BCS at-large spot and give Baylor the Big 12 title last year? Or when Georgia beat then-ranked #6 South Carolina in Week 2 last year? It's not like those teams were pushovers either, they combined for a 20-4 record last year minus the "exhibition games". Tech was also #2 when Oklahoma beat them in '08, and that was the Harrell-Crabtree year where they were halfway decent. I don't care who you are, but beating a Top-10 opponent should be considered a "big game".
