I swear I heard the Arizona Captain call Heads, but the ref said the call was tails. The ref has the better spot to hear the true call, but this consistently happens when watching any kind of football game College/Pro where they go on the field for the coin toss. I have or at least had really good hearing, now I'm starting to wonder...

And the talking heads on Fox are running out storylines that they have to compare the Oregon Ducks College Football team to the NFL 49ers..

Tim Brando's pace for PBP tonight seems more suited for baseball. The poor play on both sides early, combined with the lack of crowd doesn't help.

Brando may have already asked for his double Crown and diet while Periera is ready for his Tito's.

That was the worst part in all of this. The crowd is pathetic. It created the feel of a low-relevance bowl game instead of a conference championship. I'm only speaking idealistically because the Pac-12 has a contract to play these games in Santa Clara for the next two years, but, jeez, if these are the crowds we can expect at the Pac-12 Championship, then just go back to the on-campus games.

Yeah, not to mention that Oregon up big something like 37-7, Oregon scores a TD and Brando was surprised Oregon scored. I was "really, Tim, you're surprised that Oregon scored? It's OREGON!" I don't know, I think I'm just starting to nitpick at announcers, because the mistakes are so silly, but also like Kramerica said that crowds and the tone of the game seemed awful, probably fueled some of that.

Couldn't agree more. The game last year in Tempe was one of craziest games I've ever been to in terms of crowd noise. It was probably the biggest home game we've had in 15 years. It couldn't have been any more different than tonight. Sucks they scrapped that idea.

The 49ers again overpriced game tickets, like they did for the Cal/Oregon game in October. While tonight, they just had GroupOn for upper bowl seats, the previous game was selling club seats for half off.

6pm on a Friday night is also a really bad kickoff time in the South Bay. Levi's is surrounded by business parks.

Just a disastrous game left and right. Not a shock that the defense eventually cracked being out there the entire first half. This year had it's very lucky wins(vs Cal, vs Washington) and statement wins(@Oregon, @Utah, vs ASU). It feels great that Arizona is good in both the major sports, but I have a bad feeling this year could be the ceiling for the program, just because there are so many solid programs in the conference/divisions(Maybe not solid exactly, but no real pushovers in the conference). The future is brighter though for the program then at any time in recent memory, and I look forward to seeing Wildcat football more then in the past.

Perhaps, the playoff can be blamed for this.

Being downtown the last couple days, you'd hardly know there's the SEC Championship this weekend. Started to see some Alabama fans roll in yesterday, but didn't see many gold-n-black for Missouri. Looking at StubHub, you can purchase tickets for today's game for well under $100....I remember high 3's or 4-figures was the going rate for the Alabama-Florida and Alabama-Georgia games within the past 5-6 years.

Maybe part of it is that many are figuring that this won't be much of a contest (and I'm in line with that thinking....yeah, they won the games they needed to, but Missouri's such frauds) and won't shell out big money for a likely blowout, but also the big part is that the fans of Alabama (and the same goes to Florida State and probably what Oregon fans went through last night) is that they're thinking ahead and are planning ahead for two bowl game-like trips instead of just the one. What money they could have spent on a trip to Atlanta or Charlotte or Santa Clara could be saved for a trip to New Orleans or Pasadena AS WELL AS the championship game in Dallas a week-plus later.

If you live in Atlanta and have never been to the SEC Championship and have wanted to see it at least once, today's your best bet to do so without having to go hungry for a week. It'll be a pro-Alabama crowd just because a lot of their fans live in town, but I think it'll be in the 55,000 range instead of the normal full-house the game usually gets.

That favors the Ducks. I hope they blow the doors off of those gradient shouldered clowns.

QUACK QUACK.

Plus, UofA has never won the Pac-10/12 outright. (They were co-champs once in 1993 with UCLA, but lost the Rose Bowl tiebreak to the Bruins because UofA lost in Pasadena.)

So, yes, Go Ducks, indeed.

Prior to the recent expansion, U of A was the only Big Ten (11 teams) or Pac 10 (10 teams) team to never have made the Rose Bowl. Correct? I'd like to see that change, though with the BCS and now the tourney, those things are not as key...Wisconsin may win the B1G tomorrow and will not be in the Rose.

I am kinda pulling for the Cats...an outright PAC title for them would be a first; which is always fun.

No, it's absolutely not fun! It would kill one of my all time favorite jokes!

Q: What do you call an Arizona Wildcat player with a Rose Bowl ring?

A: A Thief.

Not really. They would still need some help to make the Rose Bowl.
And that Big Ten part held true at least until Maryland and/or Rutgers. Not sure if either team has been, but Nebraska had been to two Rose Bowls prior to joining the B1G. The joke was that we were joining with a head start over teams like Zona and Northwestern.

CBS's Allie LaForce is trying to hard to seem legitimate in talking football as she is channeling her inner "Suzy Kobler" by using a Jim Rome-esque deep voice.

Does anyone do anything right for you?

Were you not hugged as a child?

If you think the crowd was bad there, wait until you start seeing bowl games themselves. As of last night, I could score two seats at the 50 yard line at the Fiesta Bowl for $175.

Those who operate the bowls are really, really going to hurt with only a few weeks to sell tickets other than the school ticket commitments. Don't be surprised if you see lowered attendances across the board this year.
