On mobile, but after googling the company's logo, I'm certain that Nature's Bakery will be Danica's new sponsor

It's official: MWR to cease operations following the 2016 season

https://twitter.com/NASCARonNBC/status/633993961108033540

There not closing the team. Just Clint leaving.

couple of key facts to consider:

  • Rob did state that he would not be bringing MWR assets to CGR
  • Bowyer's little taunt about Truex being a future teammate
  • With MWR gone, Toyota has even MORE room, and will likely snag the deal with FRR for 2016
  • Bowyer has sponsors that like him; FRR needs said sponsors for a 2nd team

Well, I could see this happen to Clint....

Via Jayski

With no apparent openings at major teams for next season, Bowyer might need a placeholder ride for a year - much like Kasey Kahne when he drove for Red Bull Racing before joining Hendrick's four-car juggernaut. After that, Bowyer would have more options. The garage has been buzzing for a few months about the possibility of Bowyer joining Stewart-Haas Racing, but to replace who? Reigning Sprint Cup champion Kevin Harvick is locked in. Danica Patrick just signed a multi-year contract extension. And co-owner Tony Stewart said Tuesday that Kurt Busch's extension will be done "soon." That could leave Stewart, who is struggling to be competitive and has his best years behind him at 44

In the meantime, it doesn't sound like hooking up with Ganassi for one year is an option for Bowyer if Kauffman buys into the team, as the owner stated he planned to. Kauffman said he and Bowyer "agreed we would go our separate ways at the end of the season and I wish him well in whatever direction he pursues."

If the rumor mill is right, Bowyer is headed to HScott Motorsports. Richard Petty Motorsports made Bowyer an offer several years ago and is interested in him again. But this is why HMS makes sense: Despite Harry Scott Jr. playing coy at Watkins Glen, following a salmon fishing trip with Bowyer in British Columbia, multiple sources say HScott Motorports could offer Bowyer a ride until a premiere seat opens up. Bowyer has been mentioned as the heir apparent for the #14 Chevy once Tony Stewart retires.

Going the Kasey Khane route, Plus, I think its only a matter of time before Smoke calls it a career, I think Stewart Haas would be a good fit for Clint.

Danica will run a predominantly black scheme in honor of the track's Lady in Black nickname.

Brian Scott and Elliott Sadler(?) Will also run throwbacks in the Xfinity race.

Yup, it's over for MWR....

http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/13482001/rob-kauffman-announces-michael-waltrip-racing-cease-operations-season-end

Rob Kauffman, an amateur racer who is a highly successful businessman, said Friday he had enough of pouring his own money into Michael Waltrip Racing without seeing results and announced that MWR would cease operations after this season.

"Michael Waltrip Racing wouldn't have existed through today without substantial and continued financial support from me," Kauffman said Friday before Sprint Cup practice at Bristol Motor Speedway. "From a business standpoint, that didn't make sense any longer. You can't have a top-10 budget and top-10 resources and not be in the top 10 for a sustained period of time.

"It's a performance-related business. It's all about performance. It's a great sport but a very difficult business model. From a business decision, it just made sense to not go forward with that organization, which is not commercially viable

Meanwhile at Ganassi....

http://www.motorsport.com/nascar-cup/news/ganassi-will-not-expand-to-three-cars-in-2016

Officials with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates confirmed Friday that the organization will field just two fulltime teams in the Sprint Cup Series next season.

Ganassi currently fields cars for Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson and that won’t change next year despite the addition of Rob Kauffman as an investor to the organization.

So with that in mind, Bowyer may go to HScott or Furniture Row for a year, then it could get interesting....

But, HScott has Allgaier and Annett; so you think if Bowyer goes there it'd become a 3-car operation? (Probably just for one year though like Kahne and Red Bull.)

Clint has a sponsor with deep pockets: 5-Hour loves him, too.

Results from Bristol:

1. Logano

2. Harvick

3. Hamlin

4. Johnson

5. Bowyer

6. Keselowski

7. Edwards

8. Kyle Busch

9. Earnhardt Jr.

10. Newman

So close but yet so far for Harvick, traffic hit & it was hard to catch Logano. He just looked good, just like last season. Next up, the track too tough to tame, the lady in black herself Darlington.
