Coast2CoastAM2006 394 Posted December 18, 2014 This looks like a design that would have gotten shredded in the concepts forum. I prefer burger king over this. at least with the bk jerseys they were so awful that it transcended awful into something of beauty in how awful it was. This doesn't even do that. Its just bad and kinda boring. Thankfully its just a one off.
Patchey13 104 Posted December 18, 2014 Fix the numbers, wrap the stripes around the back and add some black pants and you could have a really cool third jersey.
Lights Out 4,906 Posted December 18, 2014 Horrible... Kings are going to look like an absolute laughingstock. No. The Buffalo Sabres look like a laughing stock with that yellow/blue abomination. This is just an average design. The only thing wrong with it, are the large arm numbers. It just doesn't work for the Kings. The grey... and not silver isn't a good base for this look. This would work better for a team like Carolina or Vancouver, but not the Kings. You need to strong colors separated by a white color like the Sharks or a strong color with white on the bottom, separated by a second strong accent color. It's just not the right look for the Kings.I'd say those hideous white pants are on par with the Sabres' "cape," if not worse. I actually wouldn't mind the sweater if the Sharks weren't given the exact same design, but the white pants ruin it.

It's fine as a one time uni, and I wouldn't mind it as an alternate with different pants.
JayMac 3,815 Posted December 18, 2014 As a soccer (football, for my friends who don't reside in North America) kit, thsee would look good. But as a hockey uniform, it's terrible. It's too template-y (I just made that up, I think) and the white pants should be banned.
IceCap 22,329 Posted December 18, 2014 As a soccer (football, for my friends who don't reside in North America) kit, thsee would look good. But as a hockey uniform, it's terrible. It's too template-y (I just made that up, I think) and the white pants should be banned.Again, this is less template-y than the first edge jerseys.Yet the same template is being used for both teams. That's my biggest issue. There's no variety. If they want to do one-offs for this outdoor game? Cool. Don't stick both teams in the same template. That's lame.Horrible... Kings are going to look like an absolute laughingstock. No. The Buffalo Sabres look like a laughing stock with that yellow/blue abomination. This is just an average design. There's a reason why only one team has ever worn white pants, and why those pants didn't even last a singe season. The combination of precipitation from the ice, sweat from the players, and puck marks made them look like crap.
habsfan1 3,969 Posted December 18, 2014 Am I going to get heat if I say the white pants actually work with this particular sweater design, for one game only?I agree that white pants are a definite no-no for any regular design. But if it's just for one game, why not mess around a bit? I like traditional too, but always the same thing forever is never good.

BigBubba 787 Posted December 18, 2014 Its a one off jersey meant to look completely different...Its not a hard concept to grasp people. Sure a lot of people here could design a better looking classic jersey but thats not what they are going for. I think its fine and serves its purpose. Except for the fact that it uses literally the exact sane template as their opponent.Surprised no one's mentioned the fact that they had the player wear a replica at the unveiling.

Morgan33 4,109 Posted December 18, 2014 Saying the Kings Stadium Series jersey is worse than the Sabre's "caped turd burger" is one of the more overblown reactions I've seen on here in a while...From the front, the jersey actually looks pretty good IMO. The striping is bold and understated and works well with the logo. Even that awful collar looks better on this version and the crowns are a nice touch. Its the back of the jersey where things fall apart... As for the white pants? I'll wait until I see them on the ice to judge. On display, I don't think it looks bad.

colinturner95 3,036 Posted December 18, 2014 Wore white pants once. Didn't think they were too bad. But I can't say this is the best way to do white pants.

tigerslionspistonshabs 1,640 Posted December 19, 2014 Speaking of these...I know they're supposed to wear these in March. Any chance the team goes back to, or some variation of, this set? Maybe try to spark something with the fans....nostalgia does go a long way. Eg.- the Hornets are much more embraced in Charlotte now than they were when they were the Bobcats. Branding can do a lot. These are FAR superior to what they're wearing now.
FiddySicks 11,203 Posted December 19, 2014 They could come out wearing G strings and boobie tassels and people still wouldn't be interested in the Coyotes.
