Morgan33
The Ottawa Senators never used gold striping in spite most of their logos consistently primarily of it.The early 2000s Senators would like to have a word with you.Damnit! Completely forgot about that one Still I think that jersey illustrates why using the entire palette on both the striping and logos isn't always a good idea. With metallic shades it's almost impossible to match the tones on the different materials. I used to own a replica and while the gold on the crest was reflective almost to the point of blinding, the gold on the stripes was hardly metallic at all.All your concepts look great "ExposGotRobbed94." Any of them would be a huge upgrade over the current set, fingers crossed the Blues do something similar. Think the top is my favourite.
njdevs7
My (very rough) idea for the Senators. Basically giving their old jerseys a new look.
B-mer
To join the sharks discussion, it would totally work to blend the original set with new logos. This looks great and would still work today. Gives the third jersey am identity again when having a good contrast to the standard uniforms. And that version of the alt was so much better too. Basically giving their old jerseys a new look.I think most here would agree that the white sleeves really help balance the uniform. Without it then there is just a random white stripe on the bottom. The white on the bottom would be gone too, he's referencing this, which I'd totally be behind. Also, on the topic of the Senators, Sens executive Cyril Leeder came out with an announcement about the team going towards it's 25th anniversary and the league's 100th anniversary in 2017. They are bidding for an outdoor game with the Habs that year, which would be a good fit for the centennial, with the Senators and Canadiens the only two teams with the same names and general history playing in the NHL.Also, may we be seeing a redesign that season? They say that there will be more announcements throughout the year.

It's odd that as I get older, I'm wanting to see the original versions come back onto the jersey scene for some teams. They just look that much better than what they have now. ColeJ
maybe this belongs in the unpopular opinions thread, but this is the best the Sharks have ever looked, imo.The only flaw is the socks that are missing black (between the grey and white, preferably). They're clean, unique, modern, and not ugly. Perfect for a team like the San Jose Sharks. I prefer that original logo, too. Just fix a couple of the flaws on that logo (like the stick tape), and there's no reason to update it with that after-school-action-cartoon logo they've got now. That look, save for the logo, is MILES above anything they've used since the logo update. Hell, I still like that logo better than PikaShark. BigBubba
^That was great, but the teal version was nowhere near as good. Nobody cares about your humungous-big signature. PotD: 29/1/
fullcheli
I mocked up something a few years ago when the Sharks first changed their logo (which really bugged me). This thread has inspired me to update my original design. With a few minor tweaks to their current kit, the Sharks could easily be a top-five sweater again, in my humble opinion. Replace the gold with silver, use the new diamond fin patches on the shoulders and, above all else, purge the teal out of the logo (it just makes it far more busy than it needs to be).I still think some piping at the bottom would be a good idea, but for the sake of not completely trashing their new look, I decided to leave it off. Morgan33
That looks fantastic! Add some hem stripes & eliminate the front numbers and you've arrived at perfection.

Chromatic
Took me a second to realize that was Messier in the top pic. "Players in the Wrong Uniforms"...The Canucks' look would be greatly improved if they used the striping from the alts or the 40th anniversary thirds. The current pattern with the super-thin outer stripes bugs me...beef those puppies up. Also use a block font (like the aforementioned 40tu anniversary thirds) with a Kelly green outline. That would clean up two big flaws. You can make an argument for the 40th anniversary jerseys, but not the thirds. It ruins the jersey. The blue next to the green muddies it and makes it less visible, from a distance they look like leaf jerseys. Not to mention at least the primaries have some degree of uniqueness, while the third striping is pretty much the same as Boston, Edmonton, Phoenix, Buffalo and the Rangers and Blackhawks away jerseys.
