crashcarson15 2,466 Posted December 4, 2014 The college football season is winding down but it's time to get ready for the first-ever competition run by the CCSLC Competition Council...Greetings, everyone!Within the world of college football uniform design, most consider Russell Athletic to be at the bottom of the totem pole. Our job? To change that.In order to do this, we have decided to completely re-tool our company's outlook on uniform design. We are willing to put forth a strong effort to change our perception and we're looking to you — the designers — to help us do that.We have introduced a new template — known as the "X" template — to help us with the PHOENIX project, a project that will manifest itself in three stages: Rebirth, Rise, and Redemption. As is typically the case, our designers will have to impress two sets of people in order to receive top marks in the project — the schools (which will be represented by members of the Competition Council) and the general public (which will be represented by the CCSLC Community). In some stages of the competition, designers will be given a team to design for and guidelines to follow, however, these will only be known to the designer and the Competition Council — to receive top marks, designers must juggle the challenge of satisfying the school's desires while also producing a product that looks good to a public unaware of what the school wanted to see.Our designers will be challenged to complete a three-phase project to bring Russell the top of the college football world. Are you in?Competition Guidelines:Members that registered for the CCSLC forums on or before December 3, 2014 will be eligible to vote and participate in the contest.Participants will be limited to ONE submission per round.Do not create new logos for schools as part of your submissions — however, using old logos is permissible. The Competition Council will serve as the rules interpreter as part of the competition. Any questions should be asked either in the thread or via a PM to me. However, be sure to not give away details of your submission in the thread as it might lead to your disqualification! In later rounds, a PM will be sent to communicate guidelines for your entry; ensure that your inbox is not full.Designers will be provided with our new "X" template, for use in all stages of the competition. No features should be added to the template — simply design within the lines of the uniform and that's it. Additionally, do not place images in the background of the template. When designing schools that have proprietary fonts, do not use them. We want you to go in search of new font choices for programs when applicable.Do not do anything to identify your submission on the images submitted.Submit one image for each jersey — the number will depend on the contest — to ccslccompetitioncouncil@gmail.comSubmit your entries in either .gif, .jpg, or .png formats via e-mail attachments. When submitting, name your entries by "[round number]_[username]_[jersey type].extension" — (Ex: "1_crashcarson15_home.png"Do not reveal the designer of a submission, including your own — it is grounds for disqualification.Judging will be done in two groups — the general public and the Competition Council.Voting members should rank their top 5 submissions — 1st place gets 5 points, 2nd 4, etc. When voting is finished, the tallies from the Community and the Council will be added up separately — first place in each will get 5 points, second place 4, etc.Graphic awards will be handed out for each round as well as the overall totals at the end of the competition.Best of luck to everyone — the information for the first round of the competition will be up soon. We're looking forward to this.
