New ESPN score bug

^ What's with the dots next to the team names? Some are coloured in and some aren't.

Substitutions left.

I'm guessing that will equal timeouts during football season then.

Kind of weird.... I think it needs to be more horizontal.

It does free up more of the screen though.

The one thing that drives me nuts about the bug is the ESPN Soccer Sunday part. It just seems unnecessary. Now if it's attached to the main score bug at the bottom of the screen during breaks it's fine because it feels like it was meant to be included. Here it looks like someone thought, "What if they don't know they're watching soccer"? Let's add it above the score bug!

I would've expected ESPN to roll out similar graphics for the Women's Final Four. I guess they'll save that for the NBA Finals. Perhaps they'll debut similar graphics for today's MLB Opening Night coverage

I can't really say I love it. It's too bland. Maybe because the two teams playing tonight are blue and red, but it's not all that striking.

I agree that it looks a bit too bland, but it looks clean and simple, which I like.

Agreed. I love the minimalism behind these new score bugs rolled out by ESPN lately. They are in the same vein as their website's redesign.

Not exactly ESPN, but it is a corporate cousin--ABC 7 Chicago's graphics for its Cubs telecast today vs. St. Louis. Variations of the previous ESPN graphics package (courtesy of Twitter).

Surprised they didn't try using the scorebug that they rolled out for MLS. This was a better choice though.

NBA Playoffs on ESPN/ABC start with previous graphics. When will the new graphics start for the NBA?

Finals?

The College World Series is using a new scorebug today. It looks very similar to the one used for the New Year's Six bowl games.

New ESPN MNF score bug. I think it's better than the college football one.

I'm loving that new scorebug. Especially how it lowers when the play starts. Not a big thing but I like it

The new ESPN bug is sublime. It shares all the information it needs to, and allows the vast majority of the screen for game action. I love it.

Plus, the score bug vanishes once the ball is snapped. PERFECTION.
