A while back, in the Thrift Store Gems 2014 thread, I posted that my local TJMaxx had Wayne Cherbet Jets jerseys in the current Nike uniform template, which he never wore. And I'm sure some of you were like "Pics or it's not real!" Well, here you go. Wonder no more....

For some reason, I see a lot of Chrebet jerseys on people and I'm not even in New Jersey. You see a lot on televised Jets games too.

I bet it's because of the Elf movie.

My fave local thrift had an old Pats stripey-giant-elvis Sedrick Shaw jersey for $12, though I couldn't cop a pic because my phone died:(.

It was exactly this one, though.

I'd pay top dollar for that. Any chance you could hook me up?

It's just a replica, but I've been trying to find a Colin Kaepernick Nevada jersey for YEARS. Ten bucks at the Attic in South Lake Tahoe.

It's damn comfortable, too. This is probably my new game day jersey.

Yup, Badger. I've never heard of them before, and the jersey is pretty thin, but it fits great.

I'll have to check back tomorrow that it is still available (feeling a bit dumb that I didn't scoop it when it was in my hands), but feel free to drop me a PM to discuss.

There was an odd detail about the jersey which was that it had a red and white Adidas logo on the sleeves, and from what I can find, those particular jerseys were never provided by anyone except Starter. Does anyone have any comment on that?

^ Adidas provided the jerseys in that style in 1999 (last year of that style), and Sedrick left the team by then.

Ah, thank you, I'm seeing that now. I guess it must've been made shortly before he left. I wonder if that would make it more rare. Definitely hoping I didn't miss out. :/

^ On a semi-related note, a couple years ago I found a Drew Bledsoe jersey in the same style, made by Wilson. I would presume that various manufacturers were allowed to make the jerseys for retail purposes only (even if the team/player on the jersey was made by a different manufacturer contracted by the team), which was the norm prior to the turn of the century. (And no, my jersey isn't for sale).

Huh, that makes things a bit more interesting. Could Adidas have made it during his playing time, before they provided the on-field jerseys? Then again, I doubt that they'd use that distinctive two-toned logo if they weren't the main provider (could I be wrong?). Whatever the case, I'm stumped as to what the value of this thing is, because I'd definitely like to see it in better hands.

Jersey manufacturers, especially retail replicas, before the Reebok deal in 2002 is a massive crapshoot. Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Puma, Wilson, Starter, Apex, Russell Athletic, LogoAthletic, Logo 7, and probably some I'm forgetting, all made retail replicas at some point for most teams.

Case in point: the 49ers wore Wilson on-field from the early 90s to (I think) 1995, Reebok 1996-98, Adidas 1999-2001. (I might be off by a year or so on some.) I've seen Steve Young replicas made by most of the above companies.

Anyone in New York, the Modells on 42nd across from Grand Central lost their lease...everything is marked down crazy low. $20 replica jerseys (although mostly children and XLs) and tons of shirseys and other stuff. I got a Jeter final season shirsey for $5. They mostly had Mets, Knicks and Jets stuff, but there was a decent amount of Yankees and Rangers stuff as well.

Another one of my finds that fits the category: A Steve Beuerlein Panthers jersey I have was made by Logo Athletic (he was with the team from 1996-2000; during that time, Reebok [1996 only] and Nike [1997 onward] made the jerseys for the Panthers). Alright, enough talk about that..... let the thread continue its normal tangent.

I really miss when NFL reams had individual jersey suppliers. I wouldn't want a Washington football jersey, but I always thought the Adidas logo looked cool on it:
