Saw a video of Seguin scoring on the NHL Facebook page tonight and seriously thought, "that is one fantastic matchup." I hadn't seen it myself before, it's one of my new favorites now. They look effing great.Also keep in mind a couple things - 1. teal is a weird color as far as photographs go. Same uniform looks like two completely different colors here eh?2. Back then NHL teams wore dark jerseys on the road. That photo of Arturs Irbe is very likely in another different arena. Not fair to compare photos 20 years apart in two different buildings with different lighting. Sidenote: I hate the lighting in the Shark tank. Way too dark. Pretty simple and sleek uniform, although a bit boring. Now as a fan of this franchise for almost 40 years, I think I'm contractually obligated to hate them. It looked like my old rec league team that wore solid black practice jerseys. You can barely even see the sleeve stripes during play, because they're so thin. And I actually didn't get an outdated or 90s vibe from them. Actually almost got a Blackhawks vibe, whereas it's a classically striped color jersey with large sections of white. It just worked.
