I'm constantly so optimistic for Army, "We can do it this year.." "Maybe we'll do it this year..." Army, overall, is one of the better teams in D1. However, the Patriot League is really talented, with teams like Loyola, Lehigh, and Bucknell, that we miss the playoffs all the time because of the conference playoffs.

I'm really hoping for Army to do great this year, but saying they'll win it all is a bit too much.

Also, I have a great feeling Richmond is gonna be amazing this year, after their 6-10 and conference title champion season, which was also their inaugural season.

[Plug] Don't forget to check out THE FACEOFF, weekly at SBNation's college lacrosse blog, College Crosse! [/Plug]

Gonna be a fun season. I'm thinking Denver takes the crown with all the talent they're bringing back, but Notre Dame, Duke, and Syracuse are chomping at their bits and Hopkins and Cornell are quietly going to be in the mix as well. UNC... well, they need to get to the Final Four for the first time in 22 years to earn my trust :P

DON'T JINX SYRACUSE'S FACEOFF SITUATION :P

But yeah, pretty crazy first weekend with four top 20 teams already victims of upsets, including #6 Hopkins and... okay, Loyola-UVA was only two spots of separation so that's not as mind boggling as the Hopkins loss.

My list of teams to watch are; High Point, Marquette, Detroit Mercy, Harvard, and Towson.

Ranking wise: Towson deserves voting consideration after this week's performance.

I think VMI is the frontrunner for Reverse Survivor this season instead of Wagner.

Also I'm planning on going to see a Terps home game and the Denver-Georgetown game at Multi-Sport Field.

These are just fillers until UDC starts their home streach while the Hoyas are on the road. Kinda miss playing with my old teammates though. :-/

This weekend didn't go as nutty as last weekend, but it's looking like Syracuse is joining Denver in the early season top tier. Denver finished strong to beat Duke, but Syracuse looked extremely impressive again today against Cornell in the Battle of CNY. Which means Syracuse will probably be a 2 seed in the NCAAs and then proceed to lose to Marquette in the first round or lose to a slow-paced team in the quarterfinals but roll with me here.

Speaking of Marquette, they'll most likely be in the top 20 for the first time in their 3 year history with yet another victory against a top 20 opponent this weekend in Hofstra

Are we allowed to mock Michigan for not being able to see similar success as quickly?

If you wish

Also even more upsets today, with the biggest being Holy Cross over Loyola (what?). And things got so #SPRINGSPORT it wasn't even funny today, with lots of games being played in the snow.

Why yes Warrior did something stupid with Princeton's jerseys yet again this year.

Lots of big games this weekend. #4 UNC beat #1 Denver in a goodie yesterday, #9 Cornell beat #7 Albany pretty handily in an Upstate NY matchup played in Dallas, and Princeton beat Hopkins and now Hopkins is in a bit of trouble. Tomorrow will have Cuse-UVA renew their fun times

Navy beat Holy Cross earlier and Hopkins better be ready for the Mids next week.

Also, what is this I hear about Monmouth beating Rutgers?? That's just sad man. This was Monmouth's first win in their 2 year history as a varsity program.

Poor ol' Rutgers needs a hug.

Yeah I think Notre Dame's the only team left in the regular season that can give Syracuse fits with their great D. Otherwise, aside from the usual Hobart or Colgate OUT OF NOWHERE, I don't see much standing in the Orange's way in terms of regular season games. But again, not gonna declare anything for the NCAA Tournament because in addition to Notre Dame, Maryland can stall and defend the life out of you as well.
