officeglenn Posted June 29, 2016 Share Posted June 29, 2016 Sometimes on seemingly random board pages, while browsing on mobile, I get redirected to a page purporting to be from Google telling me that my phone has been damaged by a virus and that I need to download an app to clean it up. I've never done so, of course, but it is a major risk for someone maybe more trusting. Usually the domains are gibberish, but I think one time it was something like whatisthebestapp dot com. Ā I also have gotten such messages on mobile, mostly on my phone. My tablet hasn't really had such problems while accessing the boards, not for a while at least. I, as I'm sure most users do, speed scroll through threads, mainly in the sports logos and concepts sections. That way I can skip the unrelated discussion and skip right to the content. It's really bad on mobile when you can't really tell how big the page is, then suddenly, you've got a screen full of physics-defying animated chests or ads wanting to introduce you to Russian/Slovakian/Latina/Asian spam/hacker accounts.Ā Ā If this site really wants to enforce its somewhat-PG13 label and steer clear of content such as what was posted in the BotW thread, then why the heck is that one of the prominent features on the website?
