I love baseball, but I always get burnt out at the midway point of the season. 162 games and combine that with being a fan of the Cubs, just makes baseball boring. Hopefully the Cubs can actually win something this year (unlikely) to keep me entertained this season.

I can agree with on the dog days of summer and the baseball season. Come late July, I get burnt out. However, if either the Orioles or the Phillies are in the race for a playoff spot (haha to the Phillies), it does keep my interest.

Are there any Orioles fans on here that can give me their take on how the team will fare this year? I have heard a lot of moaning and groaning about how they let Cruz and Markakis walk, as well as Andrew Miller. I really don't see these subtractions as a huge deal. Sure, they may not be as good as last year but I still think they can be playoff contenders.

Depends on Machado and Weiters playing like normal. Can Pearce repeat his 2014? Can Davis learn to hit cross field? Im not worried about his HR total, 2013 is a unique year and he hit 26 last year in only 127 games but his sub .200 isn't good. Pitching is fantastic so I'm not worried there.

Overall questions yes, but at least third in the AL east, if not repeating as division champs.

As a fan of the Rays, anything other than last place will exceed my expectations (likely won't happen though :( ). First, the Rays don't have David Price anymore (which is a big dent in the rotation), then next try to replace the greatest manager in the franchise's history (Joe Maddon) with Kevin Cash, and finally lose Andrew Friedman (who helped build the great Rays teams of the late 2000's to early 2010's) to the Dodgers. If the Rays need to win, Longo needs to step up big-time and start playing as the face of the franchise. Hopefully, Matt Moore can come back from Tommy John surgery because that pitching staff needs all the help they can get.

Predictions: 5th place in the AL East: (72-90)

If the Rays' attendance was league-worst while they fielded one of the best teams in the majors, I hate to see if this season.

It is a real shame that the good Rays teams weren't attended well. I would love the Rays move somewhere the fans are actually attend the games (don't care specifically except for Indianapolis).

Well, the Blue Jays have been nearer first place in recent summers, so my burnout luckily doesn't kick in until football is already back.

I'll always love watching late night summer Jays games on a western road swing, no matter where they are in the standings.

On the other hand....

I love baseball, but I really don't get into it until June. My focus early on is with the Hawks playoffs and the Stanley Cup playoffs, with me checking out a Braves game or two on a slow night. I can watch the crap out of the NHL playoffs, and maybe a game or two of the NBA playoffs that don't include the Hawks. The NFL Draft gets my attention (well, except for the later rounds...get burned out of draft by then).

And if the Braves have a down year like many are thinking, I may not check out many more games during the summer.

I personally love when basketball is the biggest fish. After football, the NBA is in mid-swing, you generally know the good teams, and it's just prior to the trade deadline. Then we'll soon get the tournament, then playoffs, and then you repeat with baseball.

NFL is really the only league I follow from beginning to end.

There are a lot of d-bag internet hockey fans who go into stupid posting sprees. "Hockey players are so much tougher than other sports players" and "classy this" and "classy that". "Lulz, LeBron left a game with cramps and that pitcher is out with a blister. Peverly like died on the bench, came back to life and wanted to play. So tough. Much Class."

Anywhoo, I think baseball season is the season I anticipate the most. I'm pumped right now with Spring Training starting.

Although they are d-bags about it, theyre absolutely right

this time between football and baseball season is just excruciating

Worst time of the year.

The 5-6 weeks between the end of the MLB All-Star Game and the start of College Football are worse, in my opinion. The NBA and NHL seasons are over and free agency talks are all lukewarm at best, baseball's postseason and meaningful NFL games are still a long way's away, and there's no college sports going. It's even worse if it's an odd year; at least in even years, you have competitions which go every four years during June/July/August (UEFA Euro, FIFA World Cup, Olympic Summer Games).

ARoid showed up 3 days early to start the 3yr/$61 million dollar circus on time.

Everyone keeps talking about the HR milestone bonuses, which now the Yankees say they won't pay because the club is the arbiter of those (lols)... yet why is there no mention of the hubub once ARoid scores 5 more runs & passes Saint Jeter?

I hope that happens at Yankee Stadium... or perhaps Girardi will bench him until he scores 5x on the road lols. Certainly THAT milestone will NOT be posted on Yankee Stadium's jumbotron-

'And with that run scored, Alex Rodriguez passes Derek Jeter on the all time runs scored list! Congratulations A-Rod!'?

There's talk that the Sox might move Panda to 1st when Moncada is ready and play Moncada at 3B.

I guess they would have to wait for David Ortiz to retire to do that, then move Mike Napoli to DH to make room for Sandoval.

This makes you appreciate Winter Olympic years even more. This month has felt sooooooooooooooo long especially with all the days I wake up and go to work with temps under 10 degrees.

I love the start of the dog days of summer in baseball, so this time doesn't bother me at all. Also, I LOVE being outside, and it's the best time of year in terms of weather and things to do so its easy to find distractions from sports.

Right after football season I n the middle of winter? No thanks. I'd rather just hibernate for a month.
