Being a Mets fan is pure torture

They're stealing THAT from the Giants now?

The Giants? They've won 3 World Series in 5 years. And most of their fans have only been fans for 5 years. So not a very torturous life if you ask me.

The least the Orioles should do is trade for a SP. I'd like to see them get Leake from Cincy. I don't think he'd cost a whole lot. Even with speculation they might trade Wieters or Davis, I wouldn't mind seeing a lineup like this:

C- Joseph (IMO a great catcher)

1B- Wieters (he was slated to start 1B a few games ago but got scratched plus it wouldn't hurt to try something new)

2B- Schoop

3B- Machado

SS- Hardy

LF- Dariel Alvarez (top prospect)

CF- Jones

RF- Davis

So what I've learned today is that if the Mets have a problem with a player's medical report then he's probably just fine.

What the Mets have is a money problem. There are reports that say that New York asked Milwaukee for money back on the trade and when the Brewers said no, they backed out and used the hip as an excuse.

Also once upon a time Mets doctors cleared Mo Vaughn said he was fine and did not clear Vladimir Guerrero.

Vaughn was less mobile than a statue at first base and broke down, Vladi went on to win the MVP in Anaheim

A little surprised they gave up Norris. That was their only other big time arm in the farm, he's just about Major League ready and there's enough young players on that team to say they don't have to be in "win now" mode, but I think that dynamic may have changed a bit now. If this team as is doesn't go anywhere this year or next, I have a hard time seeing it ever happen.

Meh.

Sincerely,

Kyle Drabek & Marty Janzen.

Besides, Marcus Stroman could be ready for October. A stud pitcher with a leg injury isn't in the same galaxy as a young pitcher coming back from arm injury.

Mike Leake to the Giants for two prospects.

Pretty meh, like all of the Giants deadline moves. But this just means he's gonna pitch like Sandy Koufax in his prime for about three and a half weeks in October and Win NLCS MVP, because that's how it works, right?

Former Sun Devil, too.

So some other guys failed, so it's just "meh" that they gave up their top prospect?

I love how Blue Jay fans on threads I've seen are saying this trade is no big deal because apparently it's an automatic given that AA will develop more top pitching prospects within a couple years. And what are those lottery numbers again?

Bautista & Encarnacion aren't getting any younger. Norris could be great in 3yrs... with a potentially lamer batting order.

Roy Halladay is going to the HOF but he needed out for a chance to win with star players in their primes.

Way she goes.

From what I'm reading about those two Giants prospects that's actually a pretty good return for Mikey Leakey.

Jocketty's been able to pull some nice value out of these guys, but it still sucks to be a deadline seller.

Also, last night Brandon Phillips was the first player in major league history with two home runs, 4 total hits, 2 stolen bases and 7 or more RBI's.
