If you really think about it, everybody in the National League not named the Giants and Cardinals fit that profile. Nobody in the NL can beat them but each other in the postseason- the last time we had a WS without either of them was 2009. I don't have a horse in the AL, and since nobody in the NL can ever beat these two teams, I fear we're gonna get the same old same old. I'm looking forward to AL baseball this season, while the NL is merely going to be a six-month test of which team will have their hearts broken in October as we get the inevitable Giants/Cardinals WS appearance. (Vlad got to 2nd after hitting a ball that bounced before getting to the plate.) I also remember at least two times where Vlad was trying to be intentionally walked and he still swung at a pitch way out of the zone for a double. It wasn't even a misthrow by the pitcher. It was a legitimate intentional walk. The things he did constantly surprised me.
