FiddySicks
Ok so we all know that the Clippers new road uniforms are just AWFUL, but I noticed tonight what the absolute worst part of that set is. Those HUGENORMOUS front numbers. MY GOD. Those things need to die a horrible death. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Almighty
When nike takes over the nba next year, sleeves will be gone imoBut just another reason why bron should have stayed in Miami, they don´t have sleeves, right ?Also, had he been a Adidas sponsored player what are the odds of him pulling this stunt !? M4One
The Heat had a sleeved jersey when LeBron was there. No matter where LeBron would have ended up after leaving Miami, that team would have gotten sleeved jerseys. The teams with the sleeved jerseys are pretty much the big market teams or the ones with the big name stars. I'm a little surprised at how long it actually took for somebody to try and rip the sleeves during a game. I know LeBron hated them from day 1. Wilt
Wasn't it just a Christmas jersey?Which means it was worn once and the team didn't design it and choose it on its own
M4One
My bad. The Heat sleeve jersey was never a true alternate, just for Christmas and the El Heat version. So, does anyone know how many games they need to wear the sleeve jerseys or do you think they'll be gone from the rotation after tonight? Can't see Adidas being too happy about that and wanting it to be repeated.
vmd9
Lebron has enough power within the organization to veto just about anything. If he hated the jerseys enough, Gilbert and the Cavs would have never let them happen. Have to think that the decision to add sleeves came from either the league or adidas. Wilt
I wouldn't go so far. I don't think that the executives would bother him with every little decision. If it weren't the sleeves, the uniform design might be as important to him as the colour of tiles in the locker room. I suppose he had enough on his mind during the offseason (rehabilitation, $$$ for his homie, worrying about his legacy etc.).Still, design-wise, if Cavs will play in all 3 alternates + 4 "regular" unis + Xmas = 8 uniforms, which must be a league record ever. buckeye
I had a friend last night ask me, "...What happened to the Cavs uniforms?" I explained the animosity towards the whole sleeved thing the NBA has going, and she said, "They're so ugly. I can't even look at them lol." keynote
NBA needs to either ditch the sleeves or go the soccer route and allow players to choose whether they wear the sleeves or not.I like this idea -- it would be similar to the way college players are allowed to wear team-colored tees under their unis. It would be ideal for those players who are wearing black compression shirts and/or shoulder wraps for injury purposes. I never understood why they're allowed to wear such a large garment that doesn't match the uni. I'm sure the compression shirt/wrap manufacturer could match the team colors if given the right incentive. But, if the league doesn't want to bother, then have those players wear sleeved versions of their jerseys so as to better cover up the clashing base layers. keynote
Somehow LeBron's shorts are bothering me this seasonbild uploadThis and the bright red sneakers. He nearly looked as ridiculous as Russell Westbrook off the court...Are you serious? I love the short shorts. Me too. It's not retro, so much as it is modern. They're not just a few inches shorter, they're also more tailored/slimmer, without being restrictive -- which streamlines the uni. I hope it catches on. The_Admiral
Few athletes look dopier than the white college basketball player with a white t-shirt underneath his jersey. In a year a lot of people will be wearing them and nike will start coming out with lines of "Hyper Elite Shorts" or what have you and they will have a tailored cut and short inseam. That's assuming he continues to wear them.
Waffles
The Nets will announce their (eventually) Nassau Coliseum-based D-League team tomorrow, rumored to be the Long Island Nets.Continuing New York's creative D-League tradition of putting a team in the suburbs and giving them the parent team's name! The_Admiral
Gonna be awk when the renovations for the Nassau Coliseum are amended to fit an NHL team again and a D-League team has to play to 500 people in a 16,500-seat arena. It'll be twice as bad as an average Islanders game, trololol! But I'm sure Nets LI Long Island will be a branding slaaaaaaam dunk. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

BucksFan5
Still looks like a complete moron. I'm starting to think he is one.He went to UCLA. He's got a few levels to go before he hits moron.Ok, But he's done a lot of stupid things in his tenure in the league. He looks like he's trying to be a foreign Euro import player, but he just looks like he's doing too much. took him more serious as a player and contender when he had short hairNot sure why you are hating on him so hard for trying something different. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Unfortunately, we live in a world where every athlete is under a contract with some brands. I'm not surpised that the biggest Nike star is bashing Adidas ideas. I'm not saying that the sleeves are great. It's just impossible to get an honest opinion from anybody nowadays. Why just rugby? I don't understand. Is there something inherent about basketball that you think calls for baggy shorts? Falcons. UGA. Hawks. Braves. Tottenham Hotspur.
