2015 NCAA Football Thread

It really was a genius move by the ACC. Requiring Notre Dame to play five ACC schools a year does two things for the conference: Gets them airtime on NBC when they travel to South Bend, and generates a ton of coin when Notre Dame travels to one of their schools. Aside from Boston College, no school in the conference gets to frequently experience either going to the best-known venue in college football or have Notre Dame visit.

Notre Dame football is still a very big deal. They're college football's version of the Lakers, the Yankees, the Maple Leafs, the Cowboys...they're always going to be a big deal, whether the team is winning or not.

I'm sort of angry this Saturday morning, so please excuse me...but I'm so sick of Notre Dame and its receiving of preferential treatment. This pseudo ACC membership is laughable. They play five 'conference' games but remain independent. Notre Dame has been and will always be my least favorite college football program. Someone needs to knock them off very soon. Go Clemson!

I’m not sure how you can get “preferential treatment” in a two-way negotiation, but hey, live in whatever fantasy world you want to.

To further point out the pimping of Notre Dame, I saw (fanmade)parking for $75. And people still parked there!

I ended up going out to College GameDay today, and even with the on and off rain, it was still pretty fun. There were a solid 15,000+ people out there at times, and the atmosphere was surreal. I know the game tonight can be the same feeling because of the turnout. Rain won't effect the crowd as much as many have said.

I didn't say it didn't go both ways. So I'm not in a fantasy world. Relax. You must be an Irish fan.

Okay. I didn't know that was common knowledge. Then the bias is justified.

Granted, it's only Charlie Strong's second season, but he's got to start doing something more at Texas than just talking a big game and cleaning up the program.

TCU is no slouch of a team, but there should never be a point in time where Texas is routinely a 50-burger behind to any program.....

Ok so this is pretty cool. It feels like that should be a violation of some ridiculous NCAA rule or whatever, but that's a pretty solid volunteer to have on game day!
