His time at South Carolina was way past its welcome.

I didn't know he was 70, however; Paterno was how old when he "retired"?

Way past his welcome?

The dude won 11 games for the third straight time two years ago…

You're right; I was just assuming things I had little knowledge of.

How do you think Houston would do in the Big XII? According to some people at UH, Houston "belongs playing against TCU, Baylor, and Texas".

Better than Kansas.

And probably Iowa State in that regard.

I know it's not a sexy pick, but Houston and Cincinnati are alright schools that would allow the Big 12 to get a championship game and get a "true" conference champion.

I already mentioned what happened in the Missouri game last year.

Spurrier also had a geezer moment in the Tennessee game last year, where he admitted he can't see the field like he used to. Spurrier then had his impromptu "Stage 1 - Denial" press conference to say he's still able to coach football just before this season began.

He's 70 years old. You can be as healthy as a 70 year old can be, but being a college football head coach in today's era demands too much for a guy that old.

They would be middle of the pack, if you were talking about just this season alone. Problem is that I really don't think Texas wants another in state mouth to feed alongside TCU, Baylor and Texas Tech.

I also still think BYU would be a better option for the Big XII then Houston.

I still think adding Houston, SMU, Cincy and Memphis would be best for the big 12 and have BYU and Boise join the PAC 12.

It's where college football is going. More tv markets more money on the tv rights deal. Sure it might be more hands in the pot for revenue sharing at first but it will increase by the next tv deal. Adapt or perish.

Does the word "bubble" mean anything to you?

And the commuter school which is Cougar High will fall apart (again) when Tom Herman leaves in 18 months, new stadium and all.

I don't see 14 team conference being the thing, it's the conference championship that will be the thing.

Hell, even the Sun Belt will have one in two years when Coastal Carolina joins for football. That will leave the Big XII as the lone wolf... the only conference without a title game. Don't tell me that doesn't stick in their craw because it does.

That's why the idea of BYU and Cincinnati joining (BYU for football only while Cincy can be a full member) the Big XII is, in my opinion, pretty important.

Michigan State's Magic Johnson statue was vandalized by some Michigan fans.

And?

That was the most insane catch I've seen in quite a long time. Also, thanks, Stanford! My Devils will take any loss from their PAC 12 South opponents they can get.

As for your first point, it's pretty much what I expected heading into the season. UCLA is SUPREMELY overrated. Heading into the ASU game, they really hadn't played anyone that noteworthy. Virginia is always terrible, and UNLV is utter trash just about every year, and Arizona is Arizona (AKA, a basketball school). BYU looked good early, sorta, but they won, what two or three games on the final play? One against a Nebraska team that is terrible this season. They also surrendered 38 points to East Carolina.

Utah looks like the cream of the PAC 12 South crop right now, but Arizona State (despite the slow start) aren't slouches and could definitely still win that division.

Arizona State has to beat Utah this weekend if they're going to do anything about it.

But if Utah wins this weekend, we're on a crash course for Stanford/Utah in the PAC 12 title game. What a slobber knocker that game would be. I'd love it.

(Also, with this win, can Stanford get some mo e please? No.15 in the country? Cmon.)
