DaytonBlue
Do you think that a move to the NFC is inevitable for one of the teams?Lots of speculation on twitterverse from so called "insiders" that one team would move to NFC and either team would be fine with it. Remember, only you can help stop reel-line-mints. Also it will be funny if one of these teams has to crawl back to their current home and say they're sorry because nobody is moving to London until supersonic air travel is a thing again. Still MIGHTY
This is going to be a clusterf***. I can now see why Goodell announced that no team can move to LA in 2015. We could have had potentially three teams announce their intentions to move. Please NFL, let the Rams move first.Yes, please. And the NFL wouldn't let all three move right? Could they even stop it? If all three teams build their stadiums and get it all in a row, would there be anything to stop all three teams from moving here? | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |
smith03
what happens if say SD gets a deal in san Diego and backs out would the raiders go it alone or would they have to go back to Oakland hat in hand? But if either San Diego or Oakland blinks and coughs up public money for a new stadium, we could well see the Carson deal collapse and the other team left holding not just their hat in their hand.... RockyTopper
Holy Moley, this was a total curve-ball. What are the odds of The Rams, Chargers and Raiders ALL moving to L.A.? Three teams in one city? Teams have used the "We're gonna move to L.A.if you don't give us a stadium" card a billion times in the last 20 years, but unless I'm mistaken never have they made a joint deal with another team, revealed detailed stadium plans, and had an immediate petition drive launched. This appears to be pretty much a ginormous ultimatum by the Chargers and Raiders, but prospects for new stadiums look quite bleak in both Oakland and San Diego, just like how it looks highly doubtful in St. Louis.Y'know, given L.A.'s size and attraction and power as a market, maybe a three-team scenario might just happen unless something drastic changes in any of these three cities. Or maybe it becomes a game of musical chairs and only two move in? I think that's what's probably going to happen and the odd team out will move elsewhere. Perhaps if it's the Raiders they could continue to look into San Antonio, or is that not really a possible landing place anymore? ☦ICXC NIKA
The_Admiral
I thought the NFL really didn't want a stadium in Carson. Could be wrong on this one. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Rockstar Matt
I remember hearing that too. Carson isn't flashy enough either. It's just there. The only good things about it is that there's space to build nice things, it's near two major freeways and it's kinda in the middle of the whole Los Angeles Metropolitan area. CubsFanBudMan
I still like the idea of just one team for L.A. and let's see how that goes. So it's clear now that Farmers Field is no one's first choice and its legacy will likely be the building in Minneapolis. It was reported quite a while ago that a Raiders-Chargers team-up was possible. At that time I think the Raiders were listed as the NFC-willing team. It's in this thread somewhere. I can't believe all three teams have unveiled mockups now. And I seriously wonder why the Chargers didn't threaten this years ago.Maybe they really believed the NFL would protect them until Kroenke announced his plans. I mean, it's been 14 years by their own count. This is crazy.EDIT: So does the NFL drop another press release saying, "We are still in charge here"? I thought they were still pulling some strings here but now I don't know what to think.
Still MIGHTY
Yeah, the Carson stadium would probably be the most easily accessible of the four discussed spots. Maybe give some exposure to the Stubhub Center across the freeway. (Speaking of, not that the 405 is pleasant now, but oh the hell the construction and game days would bring the 405.) And like LMU said, easily blimp access And as fantastical as it is with this ZOMG THR3E TEAMS!?! There's just absolutely no way that would work. Yes, all three teams would have their pre-established fan bases, but there's just no way. It'd be a disaster waiting to happen. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |
CubsFanBudMan
From the L.A. Times story linked above:"The NFL has looked into buying the site at least three times. ...The Chargers and Raiders bought the land from Starwood Capital Group."So they whipped up this proposal in reaction to the Inglewood announcement and already bought the land? DG_ThenNowForever
Realignment is dumb. 13-year division stability has been pretty great. Goodell should have expedited a move for the Rams and Chargers and told the Raiders to deal with it. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

FiddySicks
I've never understood why everyone is so tepid on the Carson plan. It seems like the perfect spot, as not only is it easily accessible from Los Angeles, it also is situated perfectly for the Orange County market, too. Maybe it's still considered TOO far south for most LA residents? I dunno. And sure, 405 traffic would be a nightmare, but it's a nightmare now so I think it'd be an easy thing to deal with. masterchaoss
Yeah I find it stupid that anyone would find it hard to travel that far south. I live in orange county and I have no issue getting to Dodger Stadium, Staples or the rose bowl, I don't belive Carson should be an issue for anyone in the more northern parts of LA. Also I can't imagine 3 teams in LA that big of an issue, New York was able to handle 3 baseball teams until the city wouldnt give the NL teams stadiums, and London doesn't have an issue with all of the premier League teams there. I think 3 nfl teams would work fine.I actually wonder how the fan bases would divided, and how they would abbreviate the teams those seem to be very intresting to me. Kershaw is GOD! Kershaw is LIFE!
