Aren’t Oakland and SF in the same market anyway? Would the territory rights really be any different?

its just funny that a team called “oakland” will be playing in SF, while a team called “SF” will be playing in Santa’s clara.

I don't really know what a "clara" is but Santa's not going to enjoy this.

Well pour more cold water in the Raiders to Oracle Park/San Francisco idea... The Mayor of SF has come out publicly against it. This in addition to 3 members of the SF Board of Supervisors who previously expressed their opposition.

San Diego has to be looking mighty enticing for the Raiders. Doesn't require them to pay those suing them like Oakland, doesn't require paying their hated rival at Levis Stadium, and doesn't have any impediments to use officially.

This is an embarrassment. The last time we seriously wondered where a team would play its games, it was because the city was underwater. The excuse here is that some rich dead guy's stupid kid didn't get enough free stuff.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I feel like they should just bite the bullet and play at Sam Boyd in Las Vegas. If it was good enough for the Las Vegas Outlaws it's good enough for the Raiders.

A stadium with working plumbing would be an improvement from the Mausoleum. Even if it is some rinky-dink stadium exposed to the sun all the time that no one will actually go to. And that is because who wants to get baked alive watching a godawful team when you can just go get baked and gamble/go to concerts? Maybe they should try hosting games in Mexico City? Could be a good way to gauge interest in the NFL in a potential international market.

Speaking of the last time we had this uncertainty, is the Alamodome still a possibility? There was talk at one point of the Raiders moving to San Antonio, after all...

It would be hilarious to see San Antonio tell the Raiders to take a long walk off a short dock just like everyone else has.

That's kinda my thought too - if they're gonna spend a lame-duck year at a small, outdated stadium where nobody's gonna go see a game, it might as well be the bad old stadium in the city they're actually moving to.

Can Sam Boyd even logistically house an NFL team? I thought the whole reason it was off the table was because it wasn't even possible due to the locker room setup not meeting some specification the league required or some :censored: like that.

Also Sam Boyd doesn't have the infrastructure like a replay system, etc to host and would require several upgrades.

How do they not have a replay system? They have replay in college football.

Just build a temporary bleacher stadium in the east bay similar to what the BC Lions did and bam you have your stadium for one year until its time to go to Vegas.

Who is going to give them permits? Any permits?
