fumbler
Will Gold Coast have a team? The NRL has taken them over, the board is still in control but they finally dumped Searle. RICHMOND TIGERS
JackieMoon
...sucks for Gold Coast. Perhaps the NRL needs to expand to Western Australia?...Hayne made a dumb choice... He's never going to get the respect he got in the NRL. Detroit will never take him seriously. He will be a 3rd stringer at best.If I were the Lions, I would put him in as Bell's backup. Bush, I'd send him packing, he can't even stay healthy.
Mac the Knife
As an American my exposure to NRL is somewhat limited, so it's interesting for me to learn (just a few minutes ago) that Russell Crowe owns the Rabbitohs. Cool!Tell me, does Rugby Sevens get much attention in Australia? They just aired a Las Vegas tournament here on NBC and another big one is to be played here in the Raleigh area this summer. I wasn't even aware there was a 9-man version.I think with adequate national exposure, Rugby Sevens would become popular here in the U.S. I think Rio 2016 might help make that happen. JackieMoon
Would be cool to see Rugby taken seriously here in the US. However, there is one thing in the way, the NFL, bleh.
AnPheitseog
Union(sorry I can't help adding this, the superior code of rugby) has a better chance of becoming popular with the 7s game and with the majority of the US rugby players playing union, but it won't happen until the NFL goes.TO the NRL I have no love for the league form of the game, so besides to clear my above point, ill bow out of the thread.
