'97 Steelers in their first year with Nike had the names in black on the away jerseys before switching back to gold outlined in black in '98.

I think the black-lettered names actually look better.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Wasn't there one year that the Steelers wore white names on the black jerseys? I swear I saw a photo once, but I can't seem to now.

I'll respect any opinion that you can defend.

According to the Gridiron Uniform Database, nope.

Do these count...more of a few games rather than a season.

As long as I live I may never know the appeal of designing these uniforms this way.

Virginia Tech's was the only one that made sense, because it's just coloring in one of the panels created via piping. Miami could have achieved a similar effect but they for some reason chose not to. It really helped that Marcus Vick wore an arm sleeve on that arm though too. At that point it just comes down to whether you like asymmetry or not. I do, so I'm a fan of that look for VA Tech.

Is that...Michigan? Please tell me it's Marquette or something. Didn't realize Nike had such a huge miss. What year is this from?

Its funny how big of a disaster this was, yet adidas is still making these

1999-2000. That's Jamal Crawford in the #1 jersey, BTW.

Thought I recognized him, but I wasn't following Michigan hoops back then. I'd love for us to still be with Nike, but I would never want to return to that look
