MLB hats that would benefit from different colored bill

For whatever reason, most teams in the league almost always still use the old wool caps for photo shoot days. They may just be old stock left around that they pull out just for photo shoots to save money. I think the main reason they use them though is because the grey brim is brighter and makes the players faces easier to photograph in a studio setting.

I would add the LA Dodgers to this conversation, wish they'd bring back the silver billed hat, along with the sharp blue alternate jersey.

Bringing back the blue alternates? I'd be okay with their limited use if they removed the piping. Bringing back the silver caps? Hell-to-the-no.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha (I agree with TheOldRoman, those uniforms were/still are awful)

Gray isn't now and has never been one of the Dodgers' colors. It is fine as an accent color in non-official use (ie. not on uniforms), but it has no place in their set outside of the base road color. It wouldn't make sense to take a historic franchise and add gray elements for the hell of it. As a fashion hat, I'd tell them to go nuts. But it shouldn't see the field.

But wait a minute, i made a mistake, the Dodgers BP/diamond hat has a white bill, not grey.

.

.

Also another thing i noticed, Angels Diamond hat has exactly the same logo on the front as the game cap, but dodgers diamond cap has a different logo, it is a more flat embroidered LA and it is both blue and white....very strange imo, it´s all easy to see on hatland´s website, if you don´t have the hats at hand.

I still can't believe that people actually like what the Astros are wearing now. It's bland, boring, and the colors do absolutely nothing for me. And I don't care what anyone says, that clip art H star they have now is probably the worst logo in all of sorts IMO. That was one of the biggest uniform downgrades I can ever remember.

That was my first reaction to them, but they aren't that bad looking to me now. I like the way the navy and orange pop off the home whites. The color combo is unique considering the only other time we see it is on the Tigers' away grays. The H star cap is fine. It's unique and simple at the same time.

Unless this is a recent change for this season that I somehow missed, no they don't. The Angels have that same flat embroidered DE style logo that most of the BP caps have. Only a few teams have traditional puff embroidery logos on the front. Washington, the Yankees, and San Diego (sometimes), are the only teams I can think of that don't use the DE style logos.

If you look close, you can tell the difference. The right side of the bevel on the Angels BP cap is the DE material.

It just depends on the cap itself and your personal preference. I think the majority of the BP caps look great with the DE style logo. Some, like the Cardinals, look really wonky. But most look just fine to really good.

The outlines are oddly thick on the DE caps, but that's a part of what makes them different from the on field caps. Some teams it's an easier translation than with others.
