I’ve ran into a block with the cities of Seattle, Portland, Kansas City, and Houston in my football league. The league is in 1965. I would love to hear some suggestions.

The best I have for these cities so far is:

Seattle: Spitfires/Sailors

Portland: Lumberjacks

KC: Pioneers/Spurs

Houston: Buffaloes

Houston? Apollos, Cosmos, Force (a nod to our energy industry), Heat, Spacemen.

Kansas City? Rustlers, Stampede, Twisters, Wranglers

Portland? Axemen, Loggers, Pioneers

Seattle? Grunge, Totems, Chiefs, Royals (the city is in King County)

How about Buffalo Penguins (because Buffalo, NY has snowstorms, and it's a perfect cold place for Penguins)

Sacramento Quails (State Birds of California)

Fort Lauderdale Oysters - EIBA Champion - (2016 - Present) Buffalo Freeze - CBA - (2011 - Presents) Minnesota Firs - IFF (1987 - Presents)

for my baseball league

I can give you one for Seattle, if you really wanna chase it: "Chiefs". Controversy aside, the city's namesake is for Chief Si'ahl, which after many years got anglicised to "Seattle". So there you go--if you want it.

As for Sioux Falls...well, from the months I've been up in SF, I've learned that a certain contingent of people refer to that territory as the "Sioux Empire", the northernmost extreme of what's known as "Siouxland" (basically Sioux City IA and the surrounding environs of northeast Nebraska, west-northwest Iowa, and southeastern South Dakota). Sioux Falls even has a mall named Empire Mall, so there's that. (I'm actually giving you one of my ideas here, so use it well!)

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁
