I really like the top logo. I agree that the Purple needs to stay, and you really gave the ball a cool look. Nicely done.

its the same ball in the real logo just with an little outline and the maple leaf in the center which I thought would have been a cool touch and I like the dino so i had to include him in some way so the claw was the best way I thought with that ripped up ball thing they want to use I personally like the shield better than the circle because lots of teams have circles but i am with you i like the top color combo look the best

Top and bottom are best. Clever use of the maple leaf, and excellent choice of purple

The colors seem thrown together in the logos. There is just a little of each color in each logo, and the logos may work for a WNBA team, but not an NBA team. You need to establish a primary color and then equalize the secondary colors, and having a complicated color scheme of black, red, purple, gold, and white does not help.
