Well the Lightning are 7-0 against the Habs, so I think they just have the Canadiens number. That being said, this team has been galvonized since game 5 against Detroit, so hopefully they keep this run going. Really cool to see them playing well because they were hard to watch against Detroit.

*8-0. Played them 5 times in the regular season.

AND GUISE!!!!! DID YOU KNOW TYLER JOHNSON WAS UNDRAFTED?! ALSO THAT HE ISN'T THAT BIG!!!! ZOMG I DOUBT YOU'VE EVER HEARD THOSE THINGS BEFORE!

That's my bad, I knew it was 8-0 and yet...

Tampa is 3-0 against the Rangers and 1-2 against the Caps this year too. Let's go big blue!

Great little demonstration from Sportsnet (?) that shows why Calgary "goal" wasn't. Chip technology needs to happen. In this day and age it's not acceptable to have as many issues determining if a puck is across a line as the league faces now.

I hope the Caps and Rags beat each other up over three more long drawn out games. Holtby looking stellar.

I just don't see that puck being in to be honest.

no-goal-640x434.png

The puck appears to be about an inch up on Andersen's pad, which is enough for the parallax to take over from that camera angle. It also appears to me that Andersen's pad is not a full puck length behind the goal line. The 45 degree angle is horribly inconclusive, but I think the league made the right call.

And I don't think the overhead angle would be conclusive either. The camera there is actually behind the crossbar in most arenas, meaning that the goalie's pad could be obstructing the view of the puck; also if it actually was a goal, that angle could still see it as being on the line.

I'm still happy the flames won, Ducks/Hawks would be fun but it would also be so predictable.

Adam Oates said on Sportsnet before overtime that coaches are told the 45 degree angle shown in Torin's post and that was being shown on TV isn't the correct angle for Toronto to call a play a goal on. Which I assume is because they have no idea about the height of the puck from that angle.

is your subtitle referring to your dong

no... It's a reference to rural Saskatchewan, but I do now realize where that could go wrong.

Figured it could use an edit in that case.

In the last 7 years, only a 3-0 series lead that almost got choked away and 3 coin flip OT's against Phoenix/Mike Smith looking like the greatest goalie on earth for one series, has prevented the inevitably tiresome Blackhawks West Finals appearances.

Honestly, it's more fun to root against the Blackhawks. Rooting for them is basically like rooting for the pink hat crowd ala the Red Sox after they broke the curse.
