One of the Blackhawks' too many games is against Carolina, the "Don't Forget Noah Hanifin Still Exists" game, I suppose.

Good. Only one CBJ game I won't get to watch because it's on in the local market. #GameCenter

Already mentioned, the new face of the NHL, McDavid, will be covered by NBC one time, vs. Eichel's Sabres.

How very NBC of them.

I wonder if the Islanders will soon be in that group.

They obviously didn't have their thinking hats on if they thought last year's AHL Sabres were worth 11 games, but this year's team that might actually be interesting is worth 5.

The Avs are being pushed on NBC because they're in one of the Stadium Series games along with detroit, Chicago, and Minnesota (the Wild also have 12 games on NBC).

I'm okay with that. As okay with paying another team for Dion's money. Have to hit the cap floor, & without other stars to pay right now, who cares.

The Panthers are going to carry all their home games en español on the radio this year. I think this is pretty cool, but I'm sure the same Panthers fans patting themselves on the backs for this development are the same ones who like to defend the team moving to Broward County for its "demographics."

Well, "those people" probably can't afford to come to the games or watch on cable TV, so it's nice that they'll still be able to participate.*

*Should be read in the voice of a totally not racist Panthers fan.

NHL partners with MLB Advanced Media regarding NHL Network

From Awful Announcing:

An Awful Announcing source confirms that this deal will involve shifting at least some of NHL Network’s operations from Toronto to MLB Network’s studios in Secaucus, New Jersey, and adds that numerous MLB freelancers have been informed they’ll be kept through the baseball offseason given the additional hockey production work MLB will now be doing. There may be some job losses on the NHL side; WEEI’s D.J. Bean, who broke this news Monday, writes that “A source noted that multiple employees of Bell Media in Canada, who operated NHL Network, have already lost their jobs as a result of the change. According to the source, multiple producers were not retained past July 1.” So, there may be a big shift from Canadian to U.S. studio shows and game production for NHL Network going forward. According to SBJ, the NHL is getting $100 million per year in rights fees, plus a 7-10 percent equiety in MLBAM. The entire deal is valued at $1.2 billion.

Now that the Nordiques have reached phase 2 of the expansion process, Nordiques fans have already begun rallying downtown Quebec City like Jets fans did for Winnipeg.

How many Black Knights fans have gathered down the Las Vegas Strip to display their interest for a hockey team?

Not sure you really want to rally for anything in Vegas on 100+ degree days in early August.......

Rosters for the North Stars/Wild vs. Blackhawks Alumni game being played in concert with the Winter Classic.

Lots of memories on the left side of the page. Also, either there are a couple of typos or we have a couple of goalies playing defense.
