Mayweather-Pacquiao

Well, let's get ready to rumble cuz itttttttt's nearly showwwwwtime...

Ring sides as of today Tuesday only $360,000. Needed a $250,000 credit line in the weeks lead up just to be considered, for any ticket.

Vibe is a rematch all but guaranteed... more money naturally.

I hope Pacman wins in a long fight, I predict Money wins in straight decision. Age probably affects their offence more than defence, Floyd wins a non-sexy fight.

ps ppl have to link live streams on here Saturday cuz I'm not paying lols

You're kidding, right? :jawdrop:

No sir/ma'am. That $250g was announced I think as far back as February.

A-list celebs + gazillionaires all in the same room for the fight. I don't know all the details, as if, yet enough resale could be coming from both Mayweather & Pacquiao's camps who were allocated tickets as part of the deal.

I heard that on sports radio so take it with a grain of salt.

Apparently there've been a few million dollar bets placed already in Vegas, unknown which/how many on which fighter.

$2500 a night for Fri &/or Sat night at the MGM.

It's a shame that this fight didn't happen 5 years ago when they were both in their prime. I hope Pacquiao wins in a 1st round KO. I definitely feel that it won't come even close to living up to the hype.

I heard the stupidest comment ever in regards to this fight. "The biggest fight in the history of boxing"

Maybe its the biggest fight of the 21st century, but this fight would not qualify to be on the undercard of any Ali-Frazier fight, or the Rumble in the Jungle.

Let alone Louis-Schmelling which to me was the biggest fight ever.

I am so over - and not in the good wrestling term - this fight, even before it happens. Hype, over-hype, over-analysed, prices of tickets and PPV. This is hitting NFL draft heights of overkill and overplay!

Oh what could have been....

Ppl are talking about it, & dropping their pants to pay, not for the sport of it, rather for the spectacle & historic context of it.

It is not the 'biggest in the history of boxing' yet it could arguably be one of its most significant.

Fork in the road for boxing here, not too many more kicks at the mainstream can... I hope it's a long fight & ppl crave more. I also hope more worthy athletes can step up & smash Klitschko off the mountain.

Yeah, potential rematch aside, this could be the last relevant boxing match for a long time.

I was just thinking, even the rematch couldn't match this. This thing has an era of build up & suspense. The rematch will be more of a sporting build up between boxers.

It's NOT the proverbial fork in the road as boxing is at its Dead End, like the other former major sporting event this Saturday, horse racing.

They cannot get out of their own way. They've made a return to network TV with the PBC (Professional Boxing Champions) series on both NBC, CBS and will take over ESPN's Friday Night Fights, but the biggest issue is the promoter which the networks have partnered with...Al Haymon. Haymon acts as both promoter and manager for over 60+ fighters well known to a boxing fan and skirts the intent of Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act since his contracts state he is "an advisor" as opposed to manager.

And those HWY "athletes", specifically U.S. ones turn professional with next to zero amateur bouts; some do have zero. Thus, they can neither slip a punch nor take one when put in with comparable Euro fighter in record.

Tyson calls Floyd a scared little man in reference to his self comparisons with Ali.

He points out that Floyd won't even walk his children to school (does he have children??) because he's so afraid. Ali would walk anywhere he wants with whomever he wants.

I wish I was a boxing guy. I was all in on Lennox Lewis, and my interest faded away with him.

It isn't that hard to get back in and up to date since the heavyweight division is still controlled by Wladamir Klitschko (Hayden Panettiete's husband).

Super Lightweight through Light Heavyweight, or 140-175 pounders are the most competitive and most active. Plus, they are mostly fighting under Al Haymon in the previously mentioned Premier Boxing Champions.

Plus both 50 Cent (SMS Boxing), Jay-Z (ROC Nation, who took over Gary Shaw Promotions before Shaw split after a year), and even Mike Tyson are also getting into boxing promotion by signing top fighters like Andre Ward (ROC). They are putting on cards which are actually broadcast (ESPN, BET, Spike), even though you cut the cord.

A problem with boxing is guys, & their handlers more to the point, are so protective of their records, that we don't seem to get many money matchups.

Unlike UFC which continuously pushes guys & girls against one another. Boxing could learn from that.

$5000 bucks to watch old guy fight old guy? No thanks. I'd rather buy 15 years worth of baseball season tickets.

S**t, you could buy a Super Bowl ticket for that, and at least you wouldn't face the risk that it could be over in 10 seconds.

The prices, both for tickets to the event and the insane PPV prices, is why boxing is never gonna hold my interest.
