I don't disagree with you often, but this is one of those times.. The thick black/white racing stripes on the Sox roads were FANTASTIC and it's a travesty that they dropped them (Along with the sock patch)

I agree . . . except to say that they weren't actually that thick . . . particularly compared to these.

Interesting that they would have chosen, at least in concept, to have the "canucks" wordmark on the jersey with the "V." To me, the wordmark would be fine for most applications, but putting it on the front of the jersey as well would off-center the crest too far.

Can't believe they were going to go three very different color schemes in ~11 years. Looks nice, but the logo is still kind of a mess. I think it looks terrible to have that giant blotch of white on the black jersey, for no reason other than "that's how we had to make the patch". But the little heat sink fins also make it hard to outline in the traditional way.

I agree 100%, though removing the wordmark would also eliminate the stick handle. Without it, I wonder if the hockey stick element is even noticeable.

I didn’t even notice it formed part of a stick as is.

A bit of story-telling about the Toronto Raptors in this article by SLAM.

Love seeing these.

#3 would have definitely been the logo if the team came about in the 80's.

#7 looks full-on Reptar!

#10 looks like a clumsy dino trying to balance on a giant ball.

#3 - you are probably right.  Reminds me of the Bobcats style

The Giants had several unused/prototype logos from their attempted moves to Toronto and Tampa Bay.

I’ve prepared clean digitized versions of them for a project of mine.

So many bullets were dodged, from both historical and aesthetic perspectives here. That half-arch wordmark would be decent for the Rays.
