dgthree
I feel like part of the mane has to be tucked below the top of ear. Right now the front of the mane just looks like a really thick/weird stroke line to me.
Ninjorz
Take 4 is easily your strongest yet. A lot more motion and strength is conveyed, in my humble opinion. The change to the front of mane is very different, but I really like it ... you need something to stand out from other horse logos and this does that for you while at the same time giving it speed and flare.I think that shadow at the front of the neck needs a little more tweeking, as it's a little bumpy and not bringing much to the table. As well, the bottom right intersection of the neck should probably come to a point rather than looking cut off. Might have to see it to make a decision if it's better or not.Overall, this is a great logo as it stands! Please delete my account.
Buster
^ What he said. My only criticism would also be that neck shadow...it's too prominant.Now...you need to try to sell this to come schools (high school and colleges) for use!
jmoe12
Fifth version now!-Fixed the right corner of the mane to bring it to more of a point-Another adjustment to the neck highlight, I think it's better, but not quite perfectAny more C&C? Ninjorz
Looking very good there, Jmoe!I would strongly consider an alternate version, now ... using three colors. Not to replace what you have, but just a different take on it. See what you can come up with.I really like it! Please delete my account.

suplauren
I think you should use a reference pic that's closer to your pose. Right now, a lot of the issues I'm seeing have to do with where you've placed shading and proportions. The neck shading doesn't look natural, the cheek muscle seems, off, and the ear looks small and formless. You have definitely improved from the start, though. The mane in particular looks good. But there are a lot of smaller things that need tweaking, as well. Here is a picture of a statue that is a bit closer to how your horse is posed. Overall I like the shape you have, but look closely at how the light falls on the horse, especially on its neck and mouth areas. Hopefully this helps! laurenlogos.tumblr.com
Ninjorz
I like it.It's not supposed to be a perfectly drawn horse, it's an icon ... a caricature. The Phillidelphia Eagles logo in your sig is not exact ... it has exagerations and improper proportions all over it, and the feathers don't cast shadows like that. Same thing with the horse. Ninjorz
Love some of those color varients! The red and blue is probably my favorite of the bunch (they could be the Red Horses! - I'm Air Force, first thing that came to mind), but I like the blue with yellow, and the blue with green as well.Nice job. The only real change in the proportion in the Eagles' logo is making the eye larger, which is done for effect, as you said. Jmoe has stylized the eye on his horse, and I think that's working. But he has other issues that have to do with style and realism that are hurting this piece. The neck shading doesn't make sense and looks awkward. The size and shape of the ear combined with how he's colored the nose on a few of the color samples is making it look like a pig-horse hybrid. Logos should be stylized, yes, but not at the expense of readability. Making some changes in the rendering would improve this logo. laurenlogos.tumblr.com

The beak is incredibly over-eagerated in it's hook, the lower portion is beak is too small, and the feathers are rectangles. But I won't hijack this thread any longer.I like the horse logo. It's not supposed to be an exact replica, and it needs to be different from other horse logos, of which there are hundreds if not thousands of. For his first logo, it's pretty darn good. ramsjetsthunder
Can you do a white, crimson, and cream for Oklahoma? Maybe another too with silver grey instead of cream.
Febtober
I still don't love the mouth because it kind of looks like dentures. That being said, it's still better than most horse logos being used in the sporting world. Well done!
jmoe12
Timberwolf's and Ramsjetsthunder's requests, as well as two versions of the Detroit Pistons. That should be all here, unless anyone else has some requests. Thanks everyone for the C&C to make this concept better!

Right now the front of the mane just looks like a really thick/weird stroke line to me. IMO mouth would be better suited to be the same color as the outline stroke and much thinner. Thinner stroke on the forehead portion of the mane . http://boards.sportslogos.net/settings/signature/#

Thanks everyone for the C&C to make this concept better! In the bottom-left logo (crimson keyline) his nose looks like a red clown nose because the keyline is the same color as the nose shading. Be careful with how you shade. The top two logos don't have this problem because the nose area is much lighter than the keyline. 5th in NAT. TITLES | 2nd in CONF. jerrylawless3
The jaw bone shouldn't be split in two. The lower part near he mouth should connect to make the neck line. It will look a lot smoother and realistic this way.
