Obviously bought and paid for by the French... just like your avatar.

98 with humidity can feel pretty bad if it hits you after a stretch of mild temperatures. I don't mind that kind of heat at all, though, honestly. I'd rather be too hot than too cold. If you're hot, y

This has got to be one of the best pictures in the history of sports management

Is he afraid black helicopters from the US will land and take him away?

That would be one hell of a trophy presentation though. Blatter handing out the trophy(possibly to the USWNT no less!), then BAM about ten men wisk him away into a chopper. That's Oscar worthy stuff.

They should really give him his own comedy show.

Blatter says French and German presidents applied political pressure prior to the 2018 and 2022 World Cup votes.

He added: "Those who decided this should also take the responsibility."

"Before the World Cups were awarded to Russia and Qatar, there were two political interventions. Messrs Sarkozy and Wulff tried to influence their vote-makers.

Blatter also claimed that the German football association (DFB) "also received such a recommendation that Germany should vote for Qatar due to economic interests."

He added: "Just look at all the German companies. The Deutsche Bahn (German railways) Hochtief (construction) and many more already had projects in Qatar before the World Cup was awarded there.

"I act on the leadership principle. If a majority of the executive committee wants a World Cup in Qatar then I have to accept that."

I wouldn't know about Germany, but the French pushing for Qatar isn't exactly surprising

  • 2 weeks later...

Lee Nelson (or whichever one of his characters you want to call him by) gets a lot of stick here in the UK for being unfunny but you really can't deny that this stunt was brilliant no matter how you look at it.

I think the writing was already on the wall for Blatter at this point but it's nice to have this photo to sum it all up.

The amount of awesome contained in that shot cannot be quantified. It is THE picture to represent FIFA and Sepp Blatter perfectly.

One minor nitpick though...if the money is fake anyway, dude should have used $100 bills. :P

I will not believe that FIFA will have a new president until February 27.

And the supposed air apparent is Platini which is basically Blatter 2.0. So don't expect much in term of deep rooted change. And if he ends up being the successor, I don't think that they will remove Qatar and Russia as WC sites.

The only thing that will make them change is that all the big time sponsors (Coca-cola, McDonald's, Budweiser, etc) band together and drop support.
