Team Success By quality (Or Not) in uniforms

Recommended Posts

Certain eras make good sports teams, and bad ones (ie: Edmonton Oilers), but wearing certain uniforms almost make a team better. Like the Avalanche in their Pre-edge jerseys, or the LA Kings in Black and white all time, just to name a few. What other ones have you found? Not like the championship game in white or dark colors, but the overall look... Like How the Devil Rays never did that well, but when they became the Rays, they were way better, or the Mighty Ducks only made the playoffs 4 times, but the Anaheim Ducks have only missed the playoffs twice since the switch.

Kind of applies I guess, but the Ravens have won both of their Super Bowls in white.

Come to think of it, the team wearing white has won 11 of the last 15 Super Bowls and all but one since Pats vs. eagles.

Skins won all 3 Super Bowls in white with burgundy pants also.

They lost their only one in burgundy jerseys, another in white.

However the quality was questionable back then...especially in SB XVII where there were "mistake" decals on the team's helmets that they wore all year. The decal manufacturer was having trouble with the hanging feathers adhering to the helmets so they ran a batch with tucked feathers while they worked on fixing the problem for the next season.

Small sample size, limited to this season, but the Reds are 9-2 at home in white jerseys and 1-7 in alternates.

The Cleveland Browns have not won a Super Bowl without a logo on their helmet.

The Detriot Lions have never won a Super Bowl while wearing silver and blue.

The Philadelphia Eagles have never won a Super Bowl with wings on their helmet.

I always thought it was cool that the Twins won the World Series in their first season of the "M" cap and current(ish) word mark. The A's of McGwire/Canseco became good right about when the switched from wearing BP jerseys to a more classic design (of course the PEDs mattered more).

The Cowboys never won a Super Bowl in their 'Jinxed' Blue Jerseys

The Broncos are 0-5 in Super Bowls wearing orange jerseys, 1-1 in SB's wearing white jerseys (Of their 3 SB's in 4 years back in the day, their least awful showing came in SB XXI vs. the Giants in the road whites, and 1-0 in their home Nikefied blue unis

Not sure if you meant the franchise has never won a championship or the franchise has never worn a championship in Wizards jerseys, but the Bullets won it in 1978. I'm guessing you knew that, though. :)

The Cleveland Browns have not won a Super Bowl without a logo on their helmet.

The Detriot Lions have never won a Super Bowl while fielding a team of human beings.

The Philadelphia Eagles have never won a Super Bowl with wings on their helmet.

Fixed it.

Nationals finally become a good team changing to this logo

Though they haven't done much in the last 13 years, the Mariners' greatest moments came when they wwore Blue and Teal

Yeah I know. I just like the name Bullets better because they won a championship with it. :upside:

I actually never knew that, I always just assumed that they were trying out something new and ditched it.

The Capitals actually made it past the 2nd round of the playoffs *gasp!* while wearing these in 1998:
