dfwabel
Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs thinks "Phoenix is a Dallas".I think Mr. Jacobs fails to realize that Glendale isn't a Phoenix. The ?Dallas had financial trouble because Tom Hicks was under the very mistaken impression that you could own crap solely through creative manipulation of debt and handing out reams of IOUs.Phoenix had/has financial trouble because Arizonans can't be motivated to watch NHL hockey for pennies on the dollar in numbers that are viable.I cannot find it on Youtube, but Tom Hicks was quoted in 2005 and was instantly marked as his current label in the Metroplex with this Q/A:Questioner: "So are your days as a big spending owner done?"Hicks: "Yes. I'm done. I did it on a smaller scale with the Stars, and unfortunately, it worked and we won the Stanley Cup."

Even Glendale, at least for now. They might have them, but the cost to send a patient from A to B in an ambulance is not paid by the government. Its a cost to the customer and insurance plan. The actual costs of the vehicle and the EMT services are certainly recouped over a short period of time through billing. Quote Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. Still MIGHTY
Huh. Interesting.I'm going to the game tomorrow, so it'll be neat to kinda gauge everything right up close and how they announce it. I swear to God, though, if Jamison shows up to the game and on the jumbotron in a Coyotes jersey/hat over his suit I will lose it. I'll take pictures and report anything of any sort of interest. CubsFanBudMan
I find it funny that the first comment on that link is a fairly simple and positive "I'm glad someone is stepping up for the Coyotes, etc." Nothing offensive. And it has a -7 on the thumbs up/thumbs down rating. As for the "sale," we'll see. Feels like we've been here before. (Not that that isn't true with every development here anymore.) crashcarson15
Honestly, what's everybody's issue if a legitimate owner willing to take over and run the team buys the Coyotes and keeps them in Glendale? If it's true, I'm happy they're finding a legitimate owner who can hopefully make it work.
Sodboy13
Which they can't consummate because the powerful bread lobby Goldwater Institute is stopping their research subsidies.Yeah, I don't understand how this is legal under Arizona's Gift Clause with the city still giving a private owner $17 million a year. There's gotta be some end-around in the details, or this thing just gets crushed again.Honestly, what's everybody's issue if a legitimate owner willing to take over and run the team buys the Coyotes and keeps them in Glendale? If it's true, I'm happy they're finding a legitimate owner who can hopefully make it work.Mark my words, if this sale to Jamison goes through, the team will be in this situation again before you graduate college. I will bet actual monies. If it's true, I'm happy they're finding a legitimate owner who can hopefully make it work.Oh come on. Either you know why people disapprove of the Jamison deal or you just haven't been paying attention. It's because his offer requires continued subsidies from the City of Glendale, to the tune of $40 million. From a city that can't afforded $25 million even with cuts to civic services. If Jamison wants to buy the team with his own money straight up, like what Vinik did with the Lightning, that would be fine. It would be his loss, but it would be fine. He's not offering to buy the team with his own money though. His purchase still requires subsidies from Glendale for a failing private business. Therefore continuing the "the Coyotes' continued existence is financially ruining their city" theme that's been going on for a while now. TheOldRoman
Will they ever just die?If the Coyotes are sold to the Jamison group, it will get more interesting as the constitutional challenge begins. I don't know how long that would take to play out, but there would undoubtedly be lots of pathetic hilarity arising from that. Assuming that Glendale wins the case and the Coyotes stay, all will be quiet for a few years. However, the fact that no legitimate businessmen who actually had money have touched the team in three years lets you know that there is no way this venture can succeed. The Jamison group will be banktrupt and demanding further subsidies within 5 years. Basically, it won't die until the team moves, and it looks like the team won't move as long as Bettman still draws breath.
