Magnus
I'm not usually pro-Coyotes, but considering that it can actually get close to the freezing mark in the desert once the sun has gone down, if they held it at night, it might work. teddthebucfan
Coyotes can't draw jack to their indoor games. How on earth do they plan on filling up University Stadium? 1 Quote Shameless Self Promotion!

But this is the Coyotes we're talking about!Actually, it might work... if we can get the Blackhawks and Red Wings to play each other in Glendale, I bet the crowd might be pretty decent! FiddySicks
The Yotes wanna hold an outdoor game at freaking U of Phoenix Stadium? "Hey, we couldn't draw flies if we were horse s**t at home, might as well continue that trend during our "Outdoor" game!" I bet the team is actually afraid to put the game in Sun Devils Stadium (You know, the ACTUAL outdoor stadium that's closer to the majority of Phoenix's population and conveniently located next to public transportation) for fear that it'll just magnify how God d**n stupid it was for them to move out to nowheresville from the middle of the city. I was actually going to suggest Sun Devil Stadium. Like you said, actually outdoors, closer to the population center, and actually bigger capacity-wise than UoP stadium (and roughly equal when UoP brings out all those extra seats for the Fiesta Bowl/Super Bowl) And probably better sightlines for an outdoor game with how much closer the seats are to the field than at UoP. But with UoP right next to the Jobber, I have no doubt they'd do it there if they did it, if only for convenience and the stupidity concerns you pointed out. Coast2CoastAM2006
If the Winter Classic was a TV show, the Coyotes holding the Winter Classic at UoP stadium would be the point of the tv show jumping the shark. Quote Spoilers!
NJTank
What in the Holy Name in Jesus H. Christ, Santa Claus, God, Buddah and Moses is Gary Bettman's opsession with Glendale? There are 27 other cities were an outdoor game makes more sense, and that includes LP Field and the Ballpark in Arlington. Sport
I'm not one of these hockey fans that has a vendetta against the warm weather NHL cities (except Glendale), but I'm kinda rooting for an ice disaster in the LA outdoor game that renders the game unplayable so we don't have to worry about any more warm weather outdoor games.Anybody up for sabotaging the Chavez Ravine game? It'd be risky, but playing a game in a ski resort town that was once the host of the Olympics and has this view? Yeah, I'd watch that. The_Admiral
That would be awesome. It's time to take a new tack with the outdoor games. Football/baseball is played out. dbadefense1990
In terms of an outdoor game in the Bay Area, wouldn't, theoretically, the new Levi's Stadium push the Sharks in front of the hosting priority list?
