NHL Anti-Thread: Bad Business Decision Aggregator

That email chain reads like fan banter going back and forth.  That's crazy.

PART 3 (sorta) OF MY ADVENTURES AT MY 6 MONTH SEASONAL POSITION WITH THE NHL'S FOOTAGE AND LICENSING DEPARTMENT

Well, good thing not every NHL e-mail was publicly released or else they'd have to read through quite a few of my "Hey, we need the 1994 Eastern Conference Final and Stanley Cup Final tapes from storage again" e-mails. The Manhattan office has a big tape room (or had, they might've moved it over to Secaucus with the MLB Network move unless they did a big digitization before it) of every game from 1999-2012 (the 2012-13 started going all digital) as well as basically all the Cup finals and most of the playoffs from 1950-1993. Regular season games prior to 99 and the 1993-1998 playoffs were in a storage facility across the river in New Jersey. Needless to say, we had a ton of requests for Rangers 1994 playoff clips, so that might've been my most repeated e-mail sent out.

you don't say?

i think other then hats (would say in Detroit where they throw octopus before the game is somewhat ok) i think, if the NHL wants to end this once and for all, they say, if anything other then hats, the home team forfeits the game.  that would end that quickly.

If that were to happen, I'd go to EVERY road game my team played in and start hucking whatever I could lift onto the ice.

Beware, small children under 50 pounds.

Yours is not a very well thought-out opinion.

Wasn't really expecting that from Crapitals fans, who I figured were a just a bunch of lanyards and roller backpacks with human beings occasionally attached.

Anthony LeBlanc writes a letter to the city of Glendale. That's not a bad scan of the document; whoever printed it loaded the paper into the printer all crooked. They must have used Matt Hulsizer's magic fax machine.

I thought the only person with a magic fax machine was Spano...

God, that letter is the perfect embodiment of the Coytoes as an organization. They're so quick to get out their "Look, bitch" response, that it basically came across as an emotionally fueled Facebook post after someone told them to cut out posting so many cat memes. They're even crooked in their official letters!

Someone looked at those busted-ass margins and said "yes, this is fine, I will send this to a person." High schoolers writing papers the morning they're due exercise clearer judgment.

Maybe don't ignore 20+ of the 30 teams during the regular season, and people will be more excited to watch them in the playoffs.

This is so NHL. Those are still 8,000 pairs of eyeballs on your advertisers you numbskulls and those are your fans who clearly enjoy the watch parties. Why sh!& on that?

Hey this fun thing that you're doing? Yeah, it's working too well. Shut it down and make everyone watch on their own TV. We need that tiny 8K blip for our numbers because we are a rinky dink league on a rinky dink sports network and we're worried about what 8,000 people will do to the ratings. We don't care that you enjoy it. This is sports. Sports are not meant to be fun.
