The sublimated triangles turn the uniforms into a jumbled mess and that tacky "volt" colour borders on vomit inducing. Yellow or Athletic Gold would have made this palatable albeit mediocre. That said, when Nike takes over in a couple years, maybe they'll have Portland be their "pet team" and infuse their color scheme with volt. I guess I meant the start of something that would be paralleling those trends from the 90s (gradients, etc.) but using more modern design elements. We are seeing that here with sublimated patterns, bold colors, etc. I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before another team adopts a similar approach to their rebrand, or at least tries implementing such features into their alternates. It could lead to a trend in the NBA, particularly if these jerseys fly off the shelves.I could see a team like OKC (due for a rebrand) getting a "highlighter" secondary color. Keeping blue for the primary and going with a highlighter orange or highlighter yellow as the secondary. I played with the idea in my concept and called it "electric yellow" as a reference to the stormy connotation associated with their team's name. If I were a Hawks fan, I'd rock that black tee or the heather gray pacman logo tee. I appreciate the fact that their team has put some thought into the merch rollout. I plan to buy that heather gray shirt ASAP. As a fan, I'm in agreeance with you that the team gear looks great. I'm probably going to spend too much on it most likely. It's on the green side of yellow enough that people calling it neon green are just as accurate as people calling it highligher yellow.Aside from that, seeing the actual jerseys have done nothing to improve what I think of the colour scheme. The red next to the volt is absolutely awful. Either a proper athletic gold or a kelly green would have been better. This just looks like they were trying to make something that clashes visually. How much longer until we get a second team?I don't know, but I think it would look great with a deep purple.I'm not sure where I'd rank these as far as off-season identity changes because I really like what Milwaukee and Philadelphia did but I think they did a great job here. I'm happy they went with volt instead of yellow.I wish they would have gone real crazy and made a volt alternate instead of black, but it's probably for the best they didn't. I never imagined neon in my head, but I like it. It sticks out, so even if it's a little fugly (it seems like the merch is going to be way more hit and miss than the uniforms themselves), it's an identity. But there's really no misinformation going around about the color. But in all honesty, El Scorcho said it best. There is more green in this color than your typical highlighter yellow.
